I am waiting on diagnosis for possible Bipolar Disorder. I am 30 years of age and been driving since I was 20, will I lose my licence if diagnosed with Bipolar?

If not are there any restrictions or insurance increases etc?

Many thanks in advance for any help/advice given

If you're found to have "Full Swing" Bi-Polar, your doctor will advise you on what to do. You should inform the DVLA or seek advice on the DVLA website for a full list of "Mental" illnesses (I hate that word!) that can exclude you from driving. They may contact your doctor and see how bad episodes are and so on to make the decision.

Insurance companies will ask if you've notified the DVLA of any illnesses, if you have any restrictions on your license or if you're on a yearly review of your license. It may affect your premium payable.

I hope this helps.
