I have lodged a complaint with L&G.

I received a tel call from a chap from AWD who stated that he was a freelance financial adviser,

and that for a fee he would provide financial advice for life - for a fee.

This fee was put on my mortgage = £2500 / £4000 cannot remember

- how do I find out?

He also sold my wife Critical Illness Cover.

I could not afford mine.

We were in financial difficulties at the time.

I subsequently got cancer.

Q. Can I sue / claim for mis-selling?

Q. Should my financial adviser have told me he was with L&G and offered CIC from other suppliers?

As with all such matters, the only way forward is a complaint in writing to the company who sold these products to you. If you cannot resolve within 8 weeks, then you can make the complaint to the FOS.

Some people, before they make the complaint, submit a subject access request under Data Protection, asking for all information held to be provided. The request will cost you £10 as an admin fee to the company to make, but hopefully you can use the information to help you with the complaint.

We could do with some help from you.

Thanks UB67 - I have written to them and am awaiting their response - So far I have four different advisers. It also took an age to find AWD > Carrington Carr > L&G -- It was FSA who told me about L&Gs involvement. I have also lodged my complaint with the FOS service, just as a precursor.

My main point is if there is anyone out there qualified to advise if i have a grievance or not.
