Hi

I've been promised a payrise on the condition that a colleague passes his probabtion period. This colleague works in a related department but we have very different roles and I've been here a couple of years longer. Also, I'm not confident he will pass his probation!

Can my payrise be dependant on the performance of someone else?

Thanks

JP

I dont see how it is reasonable for am employer to turn around and say "you wont get a pay rise unless they do well," while pointing at the person! If you have nothing to do with monitoring that person.

Its definitely worthy of an explanation, however you need to get it.
