ive had these buggers on me since january,

all the same threats blah blah blah,

but today i checked my bank and they had decided to take a £150 without my consent,

bearing in mind i paid them £50 last wk,

told me that they would scrub my card details,

clearly they didnt!

they did the same thing in march too,

a week after i paid them aswell and they alawys say they cant refund my money,

they took my rent money this morning and my concil tax and the bank cant claim it back cos its to a debtor

im at my witts end and i cant stop crying,

its really really distressing me,

im disabled and so is my 12 year old son but they just dont care!

Any way to get these £$%"£$"! back???????????

We have been telling people to put a letter into their bank instructing them not to make any payments under any circumstances to these companie

http://whatconsumer.co.uk/visa-debit-chargeback/s - it works!

banks MUST follow written intructions from their customers !

This fsa guide has now been updated:

http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pubs/consumer_...ghts_guide.pdf

Here's the text:

Cancelling a regular

card payment:

When you give your credit or debit card

details to a company and authorise

them to take regular payments from

your account, such as for a gym

membership or magazine subscription,

it is known as a ‘recurring transaction’

or ‘continuous payment authority’.

These are often confused with direct

debits, but do not offer the same

guarantee if the amount or date of the

payment changes.

In most cases, regular payments can

be cancelled by telling the company

taking the payments. However, you

have the right to cancel them directly

with your bank or card issuer by telling

it that you have stopped permission for

the payments. Your bank or card issuer

must then stop them – it has no right to

insist that you agree this first with the

company taking the payments.

Be aware, though, that you will still be

responsible for paying any money that

you owe.

they ARE responsible

pretty much what Dx said. The bank have broken the law and are now trying to cover it up by playing the "it's not my fault" game.

Lost my money

the bank said because it's a collector they can rightly do wot they did to me,

yet wen I called mtc they said that cfo took back over my account cos I'm a valued customer!

Only had the one loan and I reapplied this march, apparently!

I didn't do anything of the sort,

got proof yet they're adamant.

funny rly cos I don't have a house fone but I made the call according to them and I caught them out lying,

never made a payment to cfo ever but they got my brand new card details,

must be magic!

Open up another bank ac ASAP, someone like tke co op cashminder ac. It will take about 10 days to get your new ac no etc but benefits will go in straight away. I rang them on the Monday and tax credits were paid in on the Thursday.

Tell your bank if the money is not refunded you will be reporting them to fsa, better still go into the bank demand to speak with manager and demand to use the bank phone to complain. My guess is you bank with Halifax or natwest

Make sure you keep pushing with your bank, even when you are in contact with the FSA and the banks complaints department.

Demand to speak to a senior manager. They are breaking the law. You have the full right to sue the bank and get your money back plus interest.
