As Brig says, empty threat. But they are deliberately misleading you regarding the true legal situation: they can only add or recover costs IF they take you to court and win. This letter suggests that costs will be added whatever – that is a lie, so please complain and send a copy of this letter to the FCA.

What is the balance now? You said it was nearly paid off. If so, they cannot continue with bankruptcy proceedings for an amount below £750, so another possible big fib.

The original debt has been paid off. I am now paying their "costs" which would, at the moment be over £750, but only by about £300.

I will certainly complain now to the FCA.

The costs debt accrued or was agreed AFTER the SD was issued, was it not? I don’t think they can combine the subsequent costs into the original petition – that would need a new SD.

However, they may simply claim you have paid off the costs first and that the primary debt remains over £750.

  • 1 year later...

So, after paying these fleecers the money in full

i get another demand for more money for the same BC account.

I cannot express how frustrated, angry and absolutely astounded at their business ethics and genaral morals.

How can this be possibly be legal?

muppets ignore them

they've taken you for a mug

and to be quite honest

as you didn't defend the org SD again and again

you cant blame them really.

pers I don think you owe a penny

neither should have ever started paying them...

they've no enforceable CCA as far as we've seen.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
