Awarded ESA but told to find work

If someone can help me I would very much appreciate it...

 

I have been awarded ESA because of my health issues but I was put into the group that they help get back into work, I went to the job centre yesterday and all I can say is the lady didn't listern to a word I was saying I kept repeating myself and ended up leaving in tears.. I suffer with fibromyalgia, cfs, slipped disc with osteoarthritis, heart problem, thyroid problem,Insomnia, migraines, anxiety and depression I walk with a stick or crutches everyday and on my really bad days I use my wheelchair. Im on morphine everyday and loads of other medications ,Im in constant pain all over my body.. I am now in bed unable to get up and walk around due to the pain Im suffering after sitting in her chair for just 20 minutes...

 

This lady was telling me I have to go and do some courses and find a job , now Im not against working I have worked from the age of 13yrs old and right up til the day before each of my children were born there now 19,18 and 13yrs old..when I became ill I started working part time untill it got to much and I was in so much pain I'd cry myself to sleep everyday .. The people I have spoken to at the job centre talk to me as if Im making it all up and Im lazy and don't want to work .. If I got a job doesn't matter what it is I wouldn't be able to do not even half the day and I would end up in hospital ..

 

They say I can write to the ESA department and ask them to change my group they put me in to the other group but the lady at the job centre told me there's not much hope because they don't change the groups very often .. If they don't change the group Im in and If I don't start looking for courses or a job I will loose £27 of my money a week because I can't work and Im ill and disabled . I also have a blue disabled parking badge..

 

I have been told by someone at another job centre that it will be very hard for me to find work because of my health issues other words "who would employ someone like me that can only work 1 hr a week then need the rest of the week off because of illness" I wouldn't have enough money to pay bills,rent, council tax, all my medication, food and anything else thats needed If there's 2 people going for the same job Me and a fit healthy person they will never choose me....

 

 

I need advice on what I can do Im struggling to cope with all this and being ill..

She's telling you wrong. Yes, you may need to attend work related interviews; but you don't have to do anything.

I would report her, saying she doesn't know the ESA rules and needs training.
