After receiving correspondence from LCS solicitors, I checked with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) and was informed that they are not on the list of regulated firms. When I then brought this to the attention of LCS solicitors, I was informed that " 1st Credit and it's in house solicitor has ceased to use the style of stationary and LCS solicitors description with effect from 31 December 2011"

Mmmmm, I wonder why that is...

I wonder if there is any information somewhere, regarding that statement.

The in house solicitor is an EMPLOYEE of 1st Credit, but a firm of solicitors he is not! It's just another ruse used by a DCA to put the frighteners on debtors.... Thank goodness for the CAG who are able to bring these issues to peoples attention.

Colin Watts litigation paralegal is now Litigation

manager it appears that Robert Marr (Principal solicitor) of

LCS is no longer involved.

I wonder if more ''difficult'' cases will be passed

to Judge & Priestly as they were in the past.

LCS defenitly has been woun up.

This is typical 1st credit last year they SRA stated that

LCS had ceased to trade as there were no solicitors working

there, in a letter that I still have on file Najib Nathoo then

CEO of 1st Credit said that he was not aware of this,

and was going to contact the SRA to get the matter

rectified.

I think we should err on the side of caution and report the buggers - :-)

I did just that over the fact that Mr. Marr was according to the SRA not working at LCS and there

were no solicitors employed by them, Mr. Nathoo claimed it was all a mistake and thanked me

for bringing it to his attention:wink:
