Hi all,

Need some advice for my parents. They took out the full package with Virgin through one of their field advisors who were in the local shopping centre last week. They quoted £38 a month for XL TV, 30mb Broadband and Unlimited calls for the first 6 months, plus the TiVo box, and then they could drop the Broadband to 10mb to keep the cost at £37 a month after the 6 month were up. My dad received his welcome pack on Thursday, and to say he hit the roof is an understatement. The contract is for £44 a month for the first 6 months, and then goes up to £68. They have also messed around his installation date. He asked for a Thursday afternoon appointment, which was confirmed by the field agent, only then to receive a letter stating that it would be on a Tuesday morning. He's hit a brick wall with VM who are denying any responsibility for this farce.

Did he get any paperwork when he signed up for the service in the shopping centre?

He has the right to cancel if he's not happy with it

Unfortunately not, all he got was a booklet with the figures written on the back of it. I wish I had of been there as I would of made sure it was written down properly. I know he has a right to cancel, but I think he wants to take it further.

what does he hope to achieve by taking it further, once his right to cancel has expired he is left with the remaining term of his contract.

Cancel the order.

1st The cancellations department may match what was told to your patents in the shopping center.

2nd If they don't and your parents do cancel, at least you know the lying ****** won't get his/her commission :p

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.
