I defaulted on a NatWest Visa credit card £10K debt, and eventually had a letter from Natwest to say:

* account has been TRANSFERRED to Inrum Justitia;

* Decision made purely for administrative reasons;

* does not alter the Terms & Conditions of your card agreement with us and the full balance remains due & owing;

* Statements of account will no longer be sent to you and all future contact should be with Intrum Justitia.

For almost a year I've been paying them £20 @ month.

All correspondence has come from OSCC (Outstanding Services Credit Control) who are a division of Inrum Justitia (I.J.)

After reading a few posts in this site, I'm wondering:

* was the debt ASSIGNED (bought) by them or are they acting as debt collectors?

* did Natwest break any data protection laws in passing my deatils onto I.J ?

* at some point in the future are Intrum Justitia likely to accept say 30% in full & final settlement ?

* if I wake up the sleeping dog are they likely to want more than the £20 @ month I've been paying them ?

ANy advice most welcome !
