does anyone know by law how many years worth of statements on a credit card and storecard a debtor is entitled to after a cca 77/78 request?

i had a m&s storecard in 1997 which was then converted to a mastercard in 2003 and m&s are saying that they only have to keep 6 yrs by law. are they right?

i think that its 6 yrs with bank statements but surely on a credit agreement it should be the life of the debt?

thanking everyone in advance!

there is no such 'law'

its what they do with their systems.

they do not have to keep 'stuff' after 6yrs

and can quite legally shred them after 6yrs under fraud rules etc etc

though many DO have an awful lot more than they let on.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

HI ALL

I seem to just be going round n round in circles with m&s. I (like many others on here) had a storecard with a £500 limit back in 1993 which was automatically converted to a mastercard with a £4,500 limit without my signature or my requesting it.

they have sent me a copy of the application form which they say is the agreement form. i have SAR requested them however, the information they have sent me is extremely hard to understand!

i wondered if someone can look at my last letter i sent to them and their latest reply and give me some advice of where i go from here?

do i ignore them? or respond again?

thanking you all in advance.
