Hi

I have around 4 payday loans which I was unable to afford to pay so i sent them all a letter offering a repayment amount, all accepted except Quick Quid (I owe £700).

I emailed them offering £30 a month and each time they refused and suggested £100 a month and would not negiotiate. It has now been passed to Gothia who emailed me a link to their 'offer 'website saying if i pay in full now they'll knock over £50 off so i ignored it, today i got another email saying they will offer me a monthly amount so i go on website and it gives me 3 attempts to offer them an agreed amount, first offer £30 is refused, £40 is refused and finally £45 is refused. It then said to call a number and try come to some sort of arrangement with them.

I have just gone on maternity leave therefore my salary has drastically reduced (also pay £150 on the other payday loans)

any suggestions ?

Write them a letter, send via a tracked method and advise this is all you are offering.

Let them no your circumstances and pay what you can afford only, as above do it in writing and send via tracked method (royal mail recorded etc). If they refuse your offer then that is down to them, but keep all correspondence should they decide to take the matter further, you then have a defence.

Gothia will eventually write with an even more generous offer, usually about 40% of the figure owed. In the meantime I would ignore their e-mails as they are trying to get you to phone them.I reckon you can play hard ball with this lot. Just refuse to agree anything you are not happy with.
