My girlfriends friend had a boyfriend who left her a few years back now. He had debts but has not informed them that he has moved on. When they came ringing and knocking she told them he no longer lives here and dont know where he lives. She told them to stop calling and ringing or else. Well the company Credit Security Ltd have now done the following and have sent letters to her neighbours asking for information on her ex-boyfriend and if they know where he lives. Is this down right cheeky or what and can they even do this???

Dpending on how the letters are worded this may amount to harassment. I would make a complaint to Trading Standards enclosing a copy of one of the letters if possible and copies of any letters to the DCA stating that the boyfriend doesn't live there.
