On Thursady my car failed the MOT and my tax ran out on the same day. I have arranged for my car to be repaired and have an MOT retest on Tuesday 5th April.

I haven't got a driveway but I am not using my car and I have parked it in a communal car park opposite my home. I am so scared I wont make it to Tuesday without getting clamped, just living in hope.

When my car is repaired I will renew tax from 1/4/.11 so there wont be a gap . Does DVLa immediately target the untaxed cars at the beginning of the month. I thought about declaring SORN for five days but then my mechanic has to take it for the mot, and I believe the car park is regarded as on road. am I right?

Do you think I will be ok????

if this is a private carpark then they cant clamp it - private land

but i wouldn't worry

they dont strike that fast!

you will be ok for it to be on the road to take it to a machanic and then to the MOT station.

that is allowed.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thank you so much for your reply, I feel a lot better now. Does anyone know how fast an MOT is added to the national database?

Instantly. An MoT test requires the garage to be on-line at the time of the tets

Not quite.

An untaxed vehicle is exempt under the regulations to travel to/from a pre-booked MoT appointment. It is also exempt for travrl to/from pre-booked repair after it has failed such a test.
