What I've seen is you need to be VERY clear in your own mind exactly what you want to achieve by setting up such a trust, as from what I've read, the fact that you're setting it up means it is likely to be challenged at some stage, so you need to ensure it fits your exact requirements.

 

I would be surprised if anyone on here could give full advice unless they are a fully qualified legal professional. Everything says do not try and do it by yourself.

 

As you say, there are many different types of protection trust which all serve differing purposes. I would imagine your best way forward is to find a solicitor who specialises in these (there are several advertise within Google) and approach them.
