Not quite sure what response they expected you to make considering they have only bought the debt and all rights to it, whoopee doo daa!

You could if you wanted, ring them and say "there you go I have contacted you now, goodbye"

How old is this alleged debt? If it is pre 2007, then send them a CCA request, lets see how good their buying of debts under the law of property act really is.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Hi Bazooka Boo,

We asked for a CCA request last year and they sent back something that looks like a piece of scrap paper with hand written back-dated dates. I took it in to my local CAB and was told that it was perfectly legal! I am of a mind to be really sarcastic but I fear that Mrs S Chambers (the letter writer) might not appreciate it.

One further point, can I get them for damaging my health. Since all this has been going on, I have had to see a Cardiologist at my local hospital and recently was referred to a High Blood Pressure Specialist at Barts, in London. Thanks to Link I now have a daily BP of 190ish over 117ish.

It's also possible to see if they've received it by checking if your postal order has been cashed. As BB says, quite correctly, PO Boxes are signed for in batches, which you can also usually get easy confirmation with. The telephone number for finding out if your postal order has been cashed is on this forum, so you will have to search for it (I posted it from an older post a couple of weeks ago for someone else). Quite often the confirmation isn't available on the online system (yes, I know it's crazy when said and done, as you should be able to get it) because that data may not always get updated or get shared. I was told that by the Royal Mail so if I have that info wrong, so does the person giving it to me. However, I have been able to get confirmation using the two above methods without any problems at all. In other words, it's very easy to get this confirmation if it exists.

Have you had it looked at by anyone here? I see you said CAB said it was 'legal' but ... there again. Unless it was a financial specialist for example, but even then it may be worth getting it checked out. As for your tacychardicia alike BP as you describe it ie 190 over 117, hope you get it sorted out. :)

thanks for the suggestions i'll ring the post office phone number in the morning.

i have copies of the letters i sent so i can easily send another copy to there other address (wish this had occured to me the first time) but i cannot get to the post office till the weekend

the funny thing is ive had no phone calls and no letters since i sent my letter which tends to suggest they have received it.

Hi Big TJ sorry to hear your having similar problems with Link they have caused me some sleepless nights but the members on here have helped me put things in perspective. it doesnt what they say you owe its not worth your health. take care

Blu
