hi folks, does the extended 3 year warranty apply to the xbox 360 elite console? and if so, do i return it to the retailer (who are refusing to accept it as it is over 12 months old) :mad2:

it has an internal hardware failure.

many thanks,

The red ring of death (4 red lights) is covered by a 3 year warranty with Microsoft. If it does have this Microsoft are happy to deal with it or take it back to the retailer and demand that they send it off to Microsoft under their ROBO procedure (Retailer on behalf of Customer). If it does not have a Red ring of Death than you would need an independent report showing it is a manufacture fault or not durable. (I.e not down to misuse or fair wear and tear)

Ex-Retail Manager who is happy to offer helpful advise in many consumer problems based on my retail experience. Any advise I do offer is my opinion and how I understand the law.

Hi

Welcome to The Consumer Action Group.

I am just letting you know that as you haven't had any replies to your post yet, it might be better if you post your message again in an appropriate sub-forum. You will get lots of help there.

Also take some time to read around the forum and get used to the layout. It is a big forum and takes a lot of getting used to.

Once you start to find your way, you will soon realise that it is fairly easy to get round and to get the help you need.

It can be bit confusing at first.

Please be advised that my time will be limited for the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding.
