Just been on the phone again to them, same situation and they will not budge.

So I asked what would happen next if I cancelled my debit card so they couldn't take the roll over fee. They said it would continue to try and take the fee for the following month. Then after two months with none payment it would be passed to a DCA. So in two months it would mean I owe £715, £500 originally owed, £15 fee for being late over the 7day period, £200 for two months interest.

I'm thinking I might wait till the two months is up and then go for a repayment plan with the DCA? In the long run it would mean i'm paying less monthly payments and not their massive interest? The one concern is the my credit file ? would this be affected?

Willo just to reassure you the worst they can do is this mate. I've heard stories about £500 payday loans costing more than £2000 to repay so them saying this although still too much put me at ease.

They are just playing hard ball. I sent a response back yesterday confirming that I would not send over my pay slips and this was non-negotiable. I even slipped in the comment about speaking to my local CAB who have advised if they continue to play silly beggars to remove the offer and put it towards paying other debtors!

If it goes to a DCA it will almost certainly be Bryan Carter and co. They claim they are Solictors but they are nothing of the sort. I have sneaky feeling this may even be owned by the Money Shop but just renamed to try and get the ultimate effect.

Will keep you updated as things progress or not in my case!

if it goes to a DCA 8 times out of 10 they'll agree to the original amount and lower payments... if they dont want to accept £100.00 per month for 5 months they are idiots so dont worry about it, let them call you, dont ignore just keep the offer the same...

This is exactly what im thinking willo. Me personally im going to go down the route of the DCA, then pay them monthly but offer £50 a month.

I'm thinking it's pointless worrying about it.

Its pointless worrying about it because we are not party to what their real internal processes are. It may have be a new rule process that all defaulted loans need to go direct to the DCA as they are the outsourced option to set-up payment plans.

I would guess that the collections department are only a stop-gap department of payday express who try and bully customers in paying the full amount upfront or try to trip them up by asking for information to be provided. As long as you have all the communication and offers documented then I don't see it as being a problem, as like myself you have shown enough willing to start clearing the debt.

They are the ones being awkard.
