Sorry to wind you all up! You will probably be almost as gutted as I am, but I just phoned the court, and 'Colin' is off sick. I asked what this meant in terms of my warrant, and they said he will 'probably' send a letter to Halifax when he returns next week. It has really annoyed me. I can't see the point in going through the courts to this extent, if no one is going to make them pay my money!! When I think of the threats I've had of CCJs against me, I wish I hadn't worried, and just ignored all my post now!

Aww sorry to hear that!

What can you do now? Wait for the bailiff to come back, or just go in yourself and ask for the money?

There's only one bailiff to each little district apparently, and they have to be off work sick for three weeks before another steps in to help out with their district!!

Shall I just 'forget' to let the bailiffs know? I feel bad letting you all down! And he is off sick - there's no way of getting hold of him! No - better not...

Thanks again though!!

Guadge, when you speak to the baliff tomorrow, can you find out what he could expect to lift.

Could he take computers and laptops for instance? Or desks and chairs?

And do they lift value multiplied by any factor to make up for a shortcoming when reselling?

(I've heard a figure of debt x 4 to make up for the shortfall)

Thanks

Deemacperth - I just phoned the court, and they said they'd get Colin to call me as soon as he's back, but recommended a website link that may be of interest;

Hope that helps!

Just to let you all know what a fantastic morning I am having!!

I logged onto my online banking websites first thing, and have been refunded almost £4000 from another bank (who I agreed not to name!) and my £1500 from Halifax. All in the same hour!! I noticed that Halifax had taken a £39 charge from my account this morning, so sent an email to their solicitor who eventually did sort out my case yesterday, and stated that I would start a brand new court claim on Monday if this charge wasn't refunded immediately. No notice, nothing!!

And hey presto - 30 minutes later, they've refunded that too!!

I am now sitting here working out all my credit card charges to start all over again.

So - it really, really works - keep at 'em!! xx
