hello i dont know if i am in the right forum , but here goes.

back in 1995 my wife who then was a miss became overdrawn in an account by 2 pounds .

i met my wife in 1996 and decided to buy a property which at the time was very cheap under the right to buy scheme , so we asked halifax for a mortgage and where excepted.

after three years sold the property and with all that extra cash we asked halifax for a mortgage of 80000 pounds of corse we where excepted brillll

we bought thye property in 2004 lived in it , done it up etcc

back in 2006 we received a letter through the post from a credit agency stating that my now wife had defaulted on payement of 200 pounds and that it had to payed dont forget this was ten years down the line. we scratched our heads and could not workout this money . we decided to go onto experian and it showed up . we contacted halifax who i quote have been trying to find my wife for ten years even though we have had 2 mortgages with them. cut along story short halifax eccepted the mistake and all the interest was dropped and my wife had to pay the original of 90 pounds

in 2008 we changed mortgage lenders to cheltenham and gluocester again accepted no probs. in 2009 decided to ask the bank for more funds to renervate bathroom, it came up as rejected by the bank. why , why . i looked on experian at my file and i was fine, but when we looked at my wifes report there was ared default at the bottom and which will not be removed untill august of this year.

so three banks have eccepted us as customers halifax where trying to find my wife , we have contacted the finance company who have said that it will stay on your report what the hell is going on , beeen eccepted for mortgages whilst my wife was defaulted for over ten years. please helppppppppppppppp
