My "other half" had a loan with Halifax and to cut long story short, it ended up going to court as it went into arrears. There was a county court judgement that my "other Half" should repay the loan (no interest & no protection policy amount) by monthly payments of £5. (out of work/illness etc). This has been paid without fail by standing order for the last 5years or so. He has just received a letter from a DCA stating that they now own the loan and he must contact them to arrange payments.

Is this legal? Can the Halifax sell a debt with a court order on it? Now the DCA have it, surely they will start to add fees.

Must point out that the Halifax actually returned the standing order payment this month without notification. Only noticed this when checking the account online.

Please advise:confused:

Really easy just white to them with case numbers and send them the £5 a month. They may ask the court to get a updated personal budget that's about all they can do.

Thanks.

What about fees etc, can they start adding their fees to the debt?
