Yep second one I have seen this week, keep a copy of it, as there is no longer any outstanding debt, Lowlifes have paid it! See

we are prepared to close the account and write-off any outstanding balance.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

How long before Lowell sell the debts they "have written off" onto some other DCA.

I've had one of those letter few weeks ago, bet the New Year brings some other DCA chasing the debt making the usual threats of court action, CCJ, attachment of earnings, charging order, bankruptcy.

And they will still not be able to produce the credit agreement as Cap 1 have already said it has been destroyed and the reconstitued version had incorrect details.

Maybe they should have said "we are prepared to close the account, write-off any outstanding balance and sell it on to some other mugs who will be chasing you shortly".

I think that Lowells mean what they say. They wrote my debt off in late08/early09 (can't be bothered to check) and nothing since. They even cleared my credit file 6 months early. This isn't a gold star to them though. They will always be the Leeds Losers. :-)
