Interesting thread :D

I'm about to be battling Abbey, and have already had the same dodgy default notice. (My so called debt with them is £800 and an overdraft made up of 100% charges) I kept the envelope it came in too. ;) TNT Mail and it took 5 days to arrive as it was posted on a friday)

Just waiting for the termination notice, which I noticed from the dates on yours, is 6 weeks after the DN is dated. So mine should arrive in the first few days of March.

I'll post you a link to my thread when I start it. Just got to get the letters scanned and personal info removed first.

I have collected a fair bit of info re: default notices and unlawful recission of agreements. I'll dig out what I have and post it for you later. I'm sure you'll find some of it useful.

Lucky I kept the envelope then. Safely stapled to the DN and filed away to stuff Sh-Abbey with at a later date. :D

sit and wait then!

Going on other threads and noting the dates. I should get the termination in writing in the first few days of March. Then the fun begins. :D

Can you tell when it was posted from a TNT envelope?! If so please tell me how! :)

You look at the date the DN was created, then you allow 2 days if posted 1st class, 4 days if second. If the letter was dated on a Friday weekends are not counted for postal service so it starts from the Mon, if Mon's a Bank Holiday then it's the Tues.

The envelope itself besides being marked 1st, 2nd or S etc will also have a series of blue dots printed on it. These dots are similar to a bar code and contain the information needed for sorting which will include the collection date etc. We have never been able to source a program to read this code unlike barcodes, but this hasn't been a problem as it's never been needed really as the proof lays in the dates in the DN. ;)
