When you get traced via various sources, how accurate is the information?

My other half has just had a letter come through from 5.5 years ago. Ideally would like to hold off until the 6 years is up (naughty I know)

If we dont reply to the letter, will they just think he doesnt live here?

Thanks in advance.

Skip trace results are usually accurate as the majority of the results are based on the debtor applying for credit at their new address. Post the letter with "Return to sender - not known at this address" on the envelope. Letter will normally go back to Head Office or Accounts/Collections Department. Depending on the efficiency of staff - they will either not bother or they will resubmit the skip trace which will buy you more time ;P
