I sent the first dpa letter and got sent a letter requesting £20 for copy statements, which I sent return post and then received a letter saying they had received the £10 fee?? Have the yorkshire asked for too much and should I ask for the £10 back.

I received my statements and have worked out the charges with interest is £900.44 so I'm about to go onto the next stage. Any advice is welcome.

£10 is the maximum statutory fee that a data holder (i.e. Yorkshire Bank) are allowed to charge to process a DPA request. So if they've tried to charged you £20, then I'd be straight on the phone to query why they think they're able to charge this amount?

Ask for a refund of the additional £10, and if they play silly beggars, demand it back & threaten them with a(NOTHER!!!) complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Not sure about that to be honest - personally I'd take it up as a seperate issue. The ICO will take no interest in helping you get your charges back, but they will help you if they feel you've not been treated fairly under the laws of Data Protection...
