Hi there, just some info for tomorrow:

 

You should arrive at the court in plenty of time. If there are any free legal representatives there, approach them and ask for their advice. They can accompany you into the hearing if you wish. Sometimes the representative for the other side will ask to speak to you, it is up to you whether you do or not. If you do, and you feel intimidated at any time, just end the conversation by saying you would rather wait for the judge to decide.

The hearing will take place in a private room with just the judge, you and a representative from the other side. It is usually conducted around a table, like a meeting. The public are not admitted. The judge will know that you are nervous and they are usually very good at guiding you through the process. If you have to address the judge it should be Sir or Madam – and don't interrupt them!. The whole procedure should take no more than 5 or 10 minutes.

Thanks for the advice for tommorow, god my stomach is churning.

If the rep from the other side tries to speak to us and I agree, are there things I should be carefull of? what might they be (am I looking for problems here) should I just let it take its cause and hope the judge goes in my favour..or is that without doubt? that he will .

Sorry to bleat on about this but it is last minute nerves, oh and on my budget sheet should I make sure that all I have left is what I am offering for the arrears, and I have rad the norgan case which is interesting, but if the judge asks me about it do I rattle a load of nonsense to him or is there a description I could refer to (laymens terms)

Hi there, it's perfectly normal to be nervous, after all you don't go to court every day do you - but it won't be anywhere near as bad as you imagine - honest.

 

If the rep from the other side asks to speak to you, they will probably just want to know what you are offering. Sometimes they are quite helpful and will tell you that they won't oppose your offer. However, sometimes it's a cocky just-qualified youngster - but I wouldn't worry about that, judged usually put them right in their place ! If you feel uncomfortable talking to them, just politely end the conversation and say you'll wait for the judge to decide.

 

Re the Norgan case - the judge is VERY unlikely to question you in any depth about it. If he/she asks if you understand it you just need to say you understand that it means courts have the power to order payment over a period of time which can be as long as the life of the mortgage if they feel it necessary.

 

Stay positive - you will be OK. What time is the hearing?

Thanks for your replies late yesterday and early today.

 

I am at court in South Sheilds Tyne and Wear (Market Place) at 2pm.

 

I am keen to get this over with and save my home, however slightly nervous I just hope I dont go to pieces in the room, and that I protect my partner and our kids.

 

I have just looked at my kids as they are still in bed asleep, and I shed a tear wondering if their nice house etc will still be theres when they return from school later today...( a little negative I know).

 

Thank you for all your help over the last few days, and you will be the first to know the outcome.

Hello to Ell-enn and all the CAGers

 

FANTASTIC NEWS.......REPO...SUSPENDED......

 

Can I take this oppurtunity to thank all of you for your help and advice over the past few weeks, at times I was ready to 'throw the towel in' but you lot kept me going, since I have been a member I have become stronger with referance to my debts and that is because of the help I / WE recieve from the admin and site team, and importantly from each other.

 

I have told all my mates about this site and they are all keen to join.

 

A special THANK YOU must go to Ell-enn for her personal help and support not to mention her knowledge of the system..truly invaluable, you kept me going Ell when I wanted the buggers to take the house...Thank you so much you have given me a big part of my life back.

 

I am going to take the week end off, and spend it with my partner and kids, so once again a Massive THANKS.
