Hi,

Please can anyone help me - I put my watch in for repairs 8 weeks ago. At the time I was told it would take 4 weeks. I have rung every week to ask when it will be returned and just get told that they will write to me when the watch is ready - basically dont ring us again!!

It is a well known jeweller and I do have a receipt, so im not suspicious - I just want my watch back.

Do I have any rights on this or do I just have to wait?

Well services have to be carried out within a reasonable length of time if a timeframe is not agreed to in the contract.

 

I would write a letter requiring them making time of the essence stating (supply of goods and services act) that you will expect a reduction in the price if it is not returnd (repaired) within, say, 7 days.

 

I would say you have been patient enough with this already.
