Hi,

This is my first post so apologies if I have gone about this the wrong way or am in the wrong forum.

My friend has recently moved into a rented house with her then boyfriend, there is no agency involved and theyhave dealt directly with the owner/landlord. She has signed what I assume to be a Assured Shorthold tenancy agreement with her boyfriend, they are both on the lease. She alone has since paid the the total deposit and rent amounts.

She now wants him out of the house due to the obvious factor of him not contributing anything. What if any are her options to removing him from the lease and property, can we get a "deed of variation" to the existing lease without his involvement. The landlord is agreeable to this and is supportive of her and is happy to deal soley with her in the future.

He is refusing to move out and wants to continuing living there.

Many thanks for your time and any advice you can give.
