Which DCA uses the number 0870 0843585

I've had a few calls from this number recently. It's an automated line. Says this is an important call for Mr F Bobble. Press 1 to spreak to a representative or call us on 0870 0843585.

 

I tried dialing the number and got through to an indian call centre. I just hung up, as I know what there DCA's are like when it comes to fishing trips. Sooner or later I know they'll give up and write with a threat of court if I don't pay them something.

 

More than likely one of my failed CCA requests has been passed down the chain of DCA's all hoping I'll give in to their pointless demands for payment.

 

Anyone know whos number it is, so I know who to expect a threat-o-gram from in the near future?

I tried Google, but drew a blank.

 

I only got rid of Capquest a month ago. No CCA once again lol. No doubt they've been assigned another dead duck to hassle me over.

 

Will get the usual CCA. Harassment by phone, Formal complaint, templates warmed up and all ready for printing and posting then.

1st thing it said when i got through was "Welcome to Capquest, please enter your 10 digit reference number......."

Maybe for new customers they change it then. I never got any company name. Just some gormless muppet in India asking for an account number. I don't have one yet lol. Shows how bright they are.

 

Next time they call, I'll try and order a kebab or a curry.

You could just wait until one of their knob jockeys rings and leaves a message.

 

Then using his name, ring them and leave a message something like "I`m leaving a message for Joe Soap, I know what your wife did last summer"......... click

Most DCA staff aren't mature enough to have a relationship,never mind marriage. They have to learn the basics first. Like, social interaction, trying own shoelaces, and joined up writing using a biro and not a crayon.

Fuzzybobble, I've gone to some lengths to channel these people to numbers I want them to call.

 

I now have 2 home numbers - 1 for DCAs (effectively) and a BT hub 'phone (at no extra cost) with a seperate number. Friends and family now use this number.

 

I've also got a voicemail number which many Banks/DCAs believe to be my work number. I can transfer my home number to voicemail whenever I need to. Some of them also have my mobile number but this isn't a problem as I can switch it off or put it on silent. I've also got voicemail at work which I can turn on if necessary.

 

This way, I've got all bases covered. Sounds a bit OTT I know, but it works for me and must be bloody frustrating for them. Some of them spend literally days trying to get hold of me and when they do I just run rings round them or refuse to answer their security questions (like today with IQOR).

You read my mind Fred. Just sorting out changing broadband over to BT for the free calls, freeview recorder and a free PDA. It's the same as I'm paying now for loads more freebies. + If I call and complain, they'll give me a few months free like most ISP's these days. They are that desperate to keep you.

 

I've had almost a year of free AOL broadband over 3 years that way.

 

But having 3 different numbers for family, and DCA's, etc, is a good thing. You fancy a quiet night? Turn off the phone family ring you on, and have some fun with the DCA's instead.

Why not just get a phone that allows you to set a different ring tone for each number in the phonebook?

 

I have all the numbers in my phonebook playing music when the phone rings, any unknown or withheld numbers makes a different ring.

 

I just leave the answer machine on silent, so if anyone ring it will answer after a few rings. If it`s friends or family I want to talk to I ring them back, anyone else can F... O..
