In Scotland the limitation is 5 years. I would also point out that the extended limitation on mortgages only applies to the capital. Mortgage charges are subject to the ordinary limitation period - being 6 years from cause of action, or 5 years in Scotland.

 

Of course there is a view that the limitation period can be overturned due to concealment - but this is discussed in depth elsewhere.
