I went online and checked my bank account and found that Barclays had charged me £60 in the last 2 weeks for paid referral fees!!

I telephoned them and cheekily requested this to be refunded. The very nice lady at the call centre duly refunded this staightaway and also made a file complaint number for me to obtain my earlier charges, which I might add my husband has already put in a claim for and was advised this would be dealt with at the end of test case outcome!

With the outcome due for next week, it makes light reading into all of this going the consumers way do you all think????

Or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill???

last week i went overdrawn by £1.80

received a charge on my online statement for £30

but it was not called a charge but commission

called customer services who refused to refund the charge

 

we will be going into battle

Hi Had the same just the other day, charged £60 for doing a transaction on line to have post redirected, wihch did,nt go through as my account was overdrawn by 4p. They also called it commision.

Glad to hear they made the refund for you.

 

It's too early to read any more into your case though. We'll have to see what happens next on the OFT case - i.e. if either side makes an appeal.
