Lord Mustill Commonwealth,

Lord Mustill discussed the need to construe a contract contra preferentem: "the basis of the contra proferentem principle is that the person who puts forward the wording of a proposed agreement may be assumed to have looked after his own interests, so that if words leave room for doubt about whether he is intended to have a particular benefit there is reason to suppose that he is not."

Hi Vulture Bank,

In the LBA thread you refer to 'one signature'. But these application forms actually have a space for the potential client and the barclaycard rep to sign separately against each card type. The T&Cs also distinguish between the two in one area.

Sorry, but I seem to have missed something, so I'm not sure what the thrust of your argument is. But I do have a vested interest in you being right!!
