I have noticed from the post on here that all the creditor CCJ applications appear to be dealt with by Northampton CC. I do not think it will be long before you of my creditors goes down this road, so was wondering if I am defending their application, do I have to travel to Northampton to appear before the Judge? Can I not get the case heard in my local CC?.

It is a hell of a journey from Cornwall to Northampton and something I could not afford to do on Incapacity Benefit.

Northampton CC is the 'bulk processing centre' which is why lots of creditors use it as they usually submit multiple claims. Court costs are lower usinfg this route as well. If you defend a claim it will automatically generate a hearing and this should be automatically transferred to your nearest local court.
