  1. Hi, I was a victim of identity fraud in around June 2012. "Someone at the time took out loans in my name with quick quid and lending stream". It was a lot of hassle at the time ( I went through the police action fraud, recived a crime number and after a month or so I signed a couple of letters from both companies and the matter was cleaned up. I also opted at that time to put extra restrictions on anyone else trying to fraudulently take out any more loans in my name. "Let me just say that I have never ever applied or taken out any loan in my life other that a mortgage for our home that is now fully paid off". back in June 2017 I started receiving letters from MMF motormile finance now Lantern, stating that I owed them £250 for another loan from what turns out to be taken at around the same time as the other loans in 2012! I phoned them straight away and explained what had happened. But all this did was for them to send demanding letters on a weekly basis! I forwarded the police action fraud crime number from 2012 thinking that that would be the end of the matter. But all they do is keep sending me more demanding letters. Are these people above the law or what! They keep asking for very personal details e.g bank statements from 2012, my national insurance number, payslips, photo id from a passport or driving licence. I'm sure it would be reckless to send such sensitive information to a bad debt collecting company! (Do they cover their costs by selling on this very useful and very accurate information to third parties?) It would be very lucrative if they did as they would have all the information to take out a loan in my name!! What's going to happen in another few years, Am I going to get demanding letters form another bad debt company?? As much I want to clear my name I am very sceptical about about how they would use that information. I lay awake at night worrying myself to death, I am frightened about what they might do. I have been to Citizens advice bureau who just say go to police action fraud! its bonkers. If a company doesn't accept a police action fraud number and the evidence from the time of the identity fraud then they are surly acting above the law!
  2. hi This is my first post, i have been seaching through the forum for a while, i am getting confused. my husband has several credit cards debts, dating from 2005, they have been passed on to various DCA over the years. He has been paying a token payment of £1.00 SINCE 2006, he is on Esa support group and incapacity allowance prior to this, After reading on here we have requested a credit report from experian. Lowells have sent a form 'Consent to record sensitive data' what does this mean exactly. Is he obliged to get a letter from a relevent proffessional regarding his health, as they mention this in the letter and pass it on to them, We live in a rented house and there are no assets, do i send them a copy of a benefits letter guidence or advice would be appreciated thanks
  3. Can someone point me in the direction of a letter/template i saw quite awhile ago on here, im looking for the one which says about NOT giving a debt collector sensitive information (im trying to set up a payment plan and they have asked for EVERY detail of my illness and income etc) i refuse to give it to them, as i dont know where it will end up, but im sure there is a much better worded letter on here somewhere just cant find it! thankyou
  4. I have to write it like this to keep it brief but here is my question a person refuses to go through data with a company who is harassing them with phonecalls the calls continue so the person starts to record them repeated DSAR requests of the companys recordings of the calls are refused as the company say they may be considered sensitive data some time later, the issue of harassment gos to court transcripts are provided to the court and the company the company refuses to accept that they have harassed the person the person wins the court case the company appeals the courts decision the company then say they want the phone to take a copy of the recordings and will even pay for it to be done the person considers the recordings to be their own personal data but is prepared to let the company have a group of the recordings that would be considered malicious calls and criminal behaviour and which the company have denied making this is a way of saving the time and costs that would be incurred in extracting all of the calls the call can be confirmed as made by the company as they match the call logs provided if the transcripts have been entered into the court, can the company demand that all of the recordings are entered into the court as well? or can the person withold the recordings as they believe that the recordings are their own personal sensitive data?
  5. I sent an item of mail in November/December 2011 to my pension company. I sent this information by Royal Mail Recorded 1st Class post. It was only by chance that I discovered in March 2012 that this has been lost. As a result of this loss, my personal and medical details have ended up in the wrong hands as someone has used my details to try and enquire about obtaining credit in my name The information that I sent to my pension contained my following information:- My Full Name My Full Postal Address My Home Telephone Number My Personal Mobile Number My Personal E-Mail Address My National Insurance Number Including Copy Letters From DWP My NHS Number My Patient Number For Royal Bolton Hospital My Patient Number For Salford Royal Hospital My GP's Full Name & Address Medical Record From Royal Bolton Hospital & Salford Royal Hospital Medical Information From My GP Copies of X-Rays & CT Scans Royal Mail know that they have lost this information yet this still don't want to accept liability. Royal Mail have been getting away with legal/Crown Immunity for too long and we as consumers should now be taking action for the Government to remove this immunity from Royal Mail. I am happy to lead this campaign and very much would like the support of members of the public along with the Consumer Action Group. We as consumers need to lobby the MP's and the Prime Minister. Royal Mail cannot be allowed to get away with such grave mistakes which can ruin a person's life. Since I have discovered my information has been lost, I have had trouble sleeping as I am really worried that someone has got all this information of mine and they could do a lot of damage with it, Royal Mail are just not willing to accept this or take it seriously.
