My partner had his driving licence revoked in August due to a medical misdiagnosis by a locum GP and four weeks later is still waiting for the DVLA to reissue his licence after continuous calls made to them. I was curious to know if anyone else had gone through the same thing and if they had any advise please. Thank you

Hello, I am ever so slightly angry with dvla, I was banned for dd 8 years ago, I was banned for 4 years but only in the past 12 months have I tried to get it back! I went for my medical, and they asked if I smoke cannabis, I told them that I used to, but stopped around 5 months ago, my medical was sent to dvla and they revoked it for persistent drug miss use in the past 6 months, really I had smoked it once in 6 months are they for real. Second 6 months later I go back for another medical, do you smoke cannabis, no I do not smoke cannabis, medical sent to dvla, comes back revoked due to persistent drug miss use in the past 6 months. Now I honestly do not smoke weed any more, however there is a group of us meet up every 2 weeks to have a lads night, playstation etc, we all used to smoke weed, but only 2 of us do now, is it possible that I am failing due to passive smoking, I got a job in the understanding I will have my licence in the next 2 months, I told this to dvla, but they still revoked my licence, and I lost my job!! I am a very fit man, I have passed 3 offshore medicals in the past 2 years, and my own doctor said I was fit to drive, is there anything I can do, ??

hi i need some advice: ive had parkinsons for 13 years now and have been on a 3 year renewal on my driving licence.Last july i sent off my renewal as usual and heard nothing but 3 letters over the next 8 months saying they were dealing with and i could continue driving. Then last week i got a letter saying they had revoked my licence on medical grounds. I rang the dvla and they say it was revoked because of a report they received from my consultant,i asked for a copy and they said i have t write in (ive done this).I also made an appointment to see my consultant who hasnt seen me for ten years!! its allways a nurse specialist i see. when i turned up for the appointment he wasnt there:-x and i saw one of his minons who couldnt find a copy of his report and tried to fob me off when i demanded a copy. my parkinsons has never affected my driving and i ha ve 9 years no claims how can the consultant recommend i dont drive when he hasnt seen me for 10 yrs. ive had a look at the dvla medical requirements and as a far as im concerned i meet them. i live in a very rural area the nearest shop is 6 miles and theres no public transport.without my dl i would have to move house. i dont know what to do next. sar sent to nhs and dvla

Hi, be really grateful for any advice..... Back in Jan I passed out, and hit my face etc... I went to the docs who said that we had to notify the dvla, which we did. I had to fill out a medical form and was instructed by the doctor not to drive at all, which I didn't for about two months, I rang the dvla to see how it was all progressing to be told that they were really behind by about 2 months, so they hadn't even got to my case yet, but if my doc said it was ok to drive in the meantime it was all up to him. By this time, I had paid to go private and had lots of tests, scans, ecg's etc, and all were completely clear, I had been well and had not had any sign of another episode... I had been involved in a very stressful employment tribunal at the time when the pass out occured and to be honest everyone thinks it was stress......anyway doc says I think you are fine, drive, so I have done so for around a month now. This morning a letter arrives from the dvla saying that they are revoking my license, not from today but from four days time and for a period of six months from the episode, it is then likely to take another eight weeks to officially get my license back on top of this!!! I am really peeved, I live in a village, am self employed and have three kids that need running around, and my partner is always working too. I think it is all really ridiculous, and more so when they say oh you can drive for the next four days but then that's it, why say it's up to the doc then say it's 6 months from date no matter what as that is their rule???I would be grateful for any advice anyone may have on how to resolve this, I have had every test going and no know that I am actually very fit and well!!! I have to be able to drive or everyone including my business suffers aswell, and all tests are clear! Thanks in advance if anyone can advise!!
