  1. Hi all I wonder if you can help I sold a item on ebay and I sent the item throught parcel2go. I book the parcel on the 17/02/2016 and they was due to pick up the parcel the next day The courier came on the 18/02/2016 to pick up the parcel. parcel2go told me that the parcel would be delivered by the 22/02/2016. It wasn't until the end of the month that that told me by email that they lost my parcel . I put in a claim for the parcel they lost. which they Approved. Since then it been nothing but a nightmare to get my claim money back. I have waited 4 working days for the money to show in my bank account and I'm still waiting for this claim money from parcel2go. I have checked with my bank to see if they know anything and they told me they can;t see anything on their system . I have contacted parcel2go vie live chat and have been told to wait another 2 days and it will be in my bank account. I'm getting so much miss information from parcel2go that I don;t know where I'm going or coming and how many more lies I will get when I talk to them on the live chat service. Can someone help me with this problem with parcel2go as I'm not sure what to do for the best .
  2. I took out a Unsecured Personal Loan with Halifax online in December 2011. I was NEVER asked questions like, can you afford the payments, are you employed/unemployed, and I certainly was not asked about my income. This have got so bad I am currently on an IVA - Halifax increased the IVA from 5 years to 6 years forcing me to pay for longer. I am now wondering if bankruptcy is the best option. Do I have a claim that Halifax lent to me irresponsibly without going through my finances first?
  3. Hi, We recently moved house and new property did not have and working landline. Previous supplier was Virgin Media but that was cancelled by the previous occupier's family. When I looked to transfer from my current home the website said I would have to pay a new connection charge for engineer etc. As BT couldn't provide the service I arranged for Sky to provide phone line and Broadband as part of my existing TV package, BT however want to charge £169.75 early termination of contract fee and a separate charge of £31 for "cessation of broadband." My question is simple, are they entitled to make these charges as I moved house to a residence that did nnot have a supply.. Surely the contract was broken. Any advice would be gratefully received how to avoid these charges Thank You Trojan
  4. Hi all, My brother has bought a used fold away wheelchair made by Careco, from a lady who bought it in Feb this year for her mother but she has since been put in a nursing home and could not use the chair anyway as she could not control it. My brother has emailed the company to enquire about transfer of the 12 month warranty and has been told that this is not transferable so he is not covered unless he bought it new from them. There was an additional insurance purchased by the buyer for 2 years at the cost of £209. He has enquired about transfer of this but been told to contact the insurance company direct. I didnt think they were allowed to do this as its a statutory warranty ? The email is below ..... 5. I've actually put the whole question in the title. I am repaying a debt which went to court mediation and I signed a Tomlin agreement. Over a year later the DCA sold it to another DCA. For about a year the new DCA accepted my payments but are now writing/ attempting to phone/ wanting me to phone them, and saying there is not an agreement in place. I have written a letter of complaint, and am waiting their reply. But what is the LEGAL situation of my Tomlin agreement and the new DCA? Thank you
  6. Financial firms delivered fair outcomes in just 44 percent of complaints about mis-sold packaged bank accounts, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced. The FCA published findings from its thematic review of packaged bank accounts on October 20. It said firms are “well below the required standards” when it comes to complaint handling. Less than 50 percent of these mis-sold packaged bank account complaints being dealt with resulted with a fair outcome, the regulator said. http://creditstrategy.co.uk/article/18545/online-news/financial-services-failing-on-packaged-bank-account-complaints
  7. Thousands of people with lost or stolen contactless cards have been warned they could be used by fraudsters up to eight months after they are cancelled. The problem generally lies in contactless card payments being processed in one of two ways - 'online' or 'offline'. When payments are processed online, the card and payment machine immediately communicate with the customer's bank. If a lost or stolen card has been cancelled, this will be flagged immediately and a payment not allowed. Offline payments are stored in batches by retailers and processed online to the bank at a later point, sometimes a few days later with smaller stores. This can allow a thief buying goods on a stolen card to go undetected. 8. In brief.. I hold a charging order on a property The debtor became bankrupt last year and it seems has now been discharged. As the charging order survived the bankruptcy my question is.. Can I still go down the route of enforcing the judgment in the usual manner, for example, could I apply to court for an 'Order to Obtain Information' etc A little background info.. The property in question has a mortgage. The mortgage lender took the debtor to court and obtained a possession order in July 2015. To my knowledge the mortgage lender still hasn't acted on it yet. Any thoughts welcome and thanks in advance
  9. I went into Argos to use my card which had an available balance of £50 (I logged into my account online to check) and the card was declined in store. I called them up and they said my account has been closed and they are seeking to recover outstanding balance of £250. I hadn't. Even. Profiled that it had been closed and been making payments each both. They said I'd missed a couple of payments (which were late not missed). If only received statement letters from them asking for minimum payment and they are still charging me interest! I'm not in a position to pay more then the minimum payment but will never clear it at this rate and there's no point trying to and putting myself in debt with other creditors. My husband is the only earner and we struggle month to month. I've tried to keep things afloat but it's been hard. How do I get a final balance from them and get them to stop charging interest? Thank you
  10. News From Credit Strategy The above case shows that PDL firms are still failing. The firm, who is believed to be "Safety Net Credit TA/ Indigo Michael" The FCAs rules have helped but more must be done.
  11. Hi, We have a credit card debt with MBNA taken out in 2008 which defaulted in 2013. It is showing on CRA as 'satisfied' with MBNA, but then appeared as Aktiv Captial, who chased through 2013 - 2015. The debt is now with PRS Group and we have had a letter asking for payment or Court Action will ensue. If the debt is showing 'satisfied' can PRS still push for payment, or is this 'satisfied' because the debt has been bought? We wrote to Aktive in 2013 asking for CCA, they sent us photocopied version, scribbled numbers over and no sig. Do we just ignore PRS? We have had one succesfully thrown out case with another card company who folded at Court, can we do the same again? Thanks skywalker
  12. Hi I was caught doing 80mph on a dual carriageway back in March and just had my court hearing on Tuesday July 26th. During which time my points have gone from 9 down to just 3. I was unable to make court as it was 150 miles away and only had a few days notice. My case was heard and I was disqualified from driving for 6 months from the 26th July. If they are to take the 6 months from the 26th then I only had 3 points at that time and should only get 3 points and £100 fine? Have I got a case here?? Would appreciate any help MK
  13. Hi guys i work for a company who look after the virgin media contract, i am working at the moment over 70 hours a week which is tiring me out to be honest, i have a family and have very little time for myself or my kids you keep telling them about it in the nicest way possible even though its hard to keep your cool sometimes and they take Sh*t all on aboard what i have to say. I am on template pay (pay per job) now i can make some decent money when i get the big jobs like quad's, triples and duals. But lately ive been finishing my own work by 3pm ready for home and i always seem to get lumbered with other peoples because they simply cannot keep up or had worse problems than myself in the day i never seem to get any help my way when im struggling and all my manager can say is swings and round abouts, seems to be enough swings but no round abouts my way. My biggest concern is the pay im owed, i am missing money from June, August, September and October and when i keep submitting my wage query's i hear nothing back this goes on for months and up to this day i still have not received any money im owed. I have joined the cable workers union but obviously want to the company to rectify this problem first without involving the union, a lad i work with has also submitted a grievance to the HR of the company and said they are looking into it he has told me to look on google for the template letter regarding pay but not having any luck could anyone be so kind to point me into the right direction and is there any law to me doing more than 12 hours a day can i refuse to work after 12 hours ?
  14. My house Insurance company has charged me £30 for an unpaid direct debit. the payment was due on the 28th and I had forgotten about it because of a hectic work schedule of working night shifts. I had a notification of a failed Direct debit payment of £14.30 I phoned them up on the 30th on my day off and paid in full and asked if they would waive the £30 fee and he said he cant do that. I said I thought companies were no longer allowed to charge this much and he replied the company can charge £30 for unpaid direct debits and there is nothing I can do about it. I said Im going to look this up I dont feel its fair. he said look it up all you want im right and theres nothing you can do about it and then hung up.
  15. Hello everyone. I am in such a stupid position that I have got myself into. I am extremely worried that it is stopping me from sleeping. To cut a long story short I have buried my head in the sand for far too long, on June 21st the Bailiffs will be coming to my house. I have been looking around and seen that it's possible for me to fill out a 'n245 form' and ask the court to stop the bailiffs coming. I have a few questions before I do. Firstly, tomorrow I plan to print off the form and send it out first class. Can the Bailiffs next week after I send this form? Should I let them know I have sent the form, or won't it be necessarily? If they turn up should I tell them then? I am extremely anxious at the idea of them turning up at my house, I am a nervous wreck. If the court do accept the application, what happens then? I am currently on Universal credits so not receiving very much money at all. I honestly won't be able to pay much every month. Do they court decide how much I should pay off of the CCJ? I'll do anything to stop bailiffs coming, but I have such an extremely small budget I don't know how to fix it. I'm very frightened and overwhelmed by the whole thing. I have also heard that the n245 form costs £50? How is that paid, I simply cannot afford to pay it in one go at the moment. I've read about a ex160 form that can apparently help with reducing that cost? Is that right. and if so do I have to send it along with the n245 form to the same place? Thank you for having such a place to come to for these questions (and I apologise for all the questions that are no doubt pretty stupid x) Yikes I have just re-read my post, I apologise for the typos.
  16. RBS results show another big loss and have now not made a profit since 2007. The top US Banks are still holding such massive liabilities, that many believe any major market shock could cause a crash worse than 07/08. One of the top Banks JP Morgan is apparently of major concern and if you Google about them, you will see there are reports of people raising worries about their financial position. There are also reports that the Banks are currently going through a programme of taking on more consumer and corporate credit. Given that they are not in a healthy position, you would question why this might be the case. Are the Banks being pressured by governments to put more money into the system, on the basis that if it all goes tits up they will be bailed out again ? If you are holding any savings and investments at the moment, you might wish to review these, so you minimise any risk.
  17. To cut a long story short, my car broke down 4 weeks ago. Took it to my local garage who, after 3 days, diagnosed burnt exhaust valves. This shoudl take less than a week to fix and put back together. However they still have the car, in bits, after making various excuses about things going wrong, the latest one today is they need to take the head back off and send it to a machineing shop for some more work, and I 'should' have it back early next week. This will be over a month since I first took it to them. I've completely lost confidence now in their ability to fix my car. Do I have any rights re; taking my car back in its current state, would I be liable for any repair/parts costs? Thanks for any help
  18. Hi All I'm new to this site, another matter brought me here but thought I'd ask you knowledgeable bunch about this too (they are kind of related). In 2014 we stupidly had a vehicle from Credit4cars - we allowed voluntary repossession. The balance was removed and the account closed on my credit file but on my husbands it still shows as open with a balance??? Now, I appreciate that there would more than likely have been a shortfall in the auctioned amount and amount owed in finance but the amount on his credit file never changed and why would the balance go to £0 on mine and a closed account yet on my husbands still show as this? What do I need to do to get this updated on his credit file? I note they are in administration so not sure where to go really - contacted the credit reference agency and they said contact creditor. We've had a bad few years financially and we are finally getting sorted - trying to clean up credit files and this looks really bad. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give
  19. This week, I received response back from Restons for my Halifax credit card debt, for a case which is already in court. But in their response they provided an approximate date of credit card agreement and said '... Halifax card agreement entered into by the defendant on or around 22 August 2011...' Can they still get a judgement without providing an original date of credit agreement. They provided a reconstituted credit agreement with some dates at the bottom but they do not match with the date they mentioned above.
  20. Hi there I took a car out on a PCP contract for 4 years with Mercedes in August 2014 I took a seizure on 4th April 2015 still no sign of getting my licence back but I've never missed a payment on the PCP agreement this has nearly been a year since I took the seizure and still paying every month I can't see a way out or put a plan together as Mercedes aren't interested although I've informed Mercedes of my situation but there not interested as long as they are getting paid every month,if anyone could give me some advice on what to do I would be most greatful especially in finding out how soon I could possibly VT the car back to them as I'm partially disabled and struggling to get by with having to pay for this car every month it's seriously effecting me and my family at this moment I can't just hand the car back because it would blacklist my name. I think I need to pay at least half of what is owed on the agreement but I just can't keep this up its having devastating effects on my life having to worry about raising the money every month for something that I can't even drive,if anyone can help or point me in the right direction it would be so much appreciated with kindest regards Scott thanks in advance
  21. Train companies are still failing to provide customers with accurate information about delay compensation, new research by the rail regulator has found. The research is in response to a super-complaint issued by Which? in December 2015 that highlighted how badly some train companies were letting down their passengers. The Office of Road and Rail (ORR) investigation has agreed with Which? that rail passengers are being doubly disadvantaged by train delays as the claims process for compensation is neither clear nor straightforward. One company even openly admitted that it’s not in its best interest to promote compensation to its passengers. How to claim refunds for train delays and cancellations Don’t miss out on the compensation you’re entitled to if your train is delayed. Use our guide to find out how much train delay compensation you’re due and how to claim it. http://www.which.co.uk/news/2016/03/train-companies-still-failing-millions-of-passengers-436881/
  22. Have read the other threads on site and else where about this car park. I read the parking notices like others and to be fair if it says for site users I missed that. The Biggest part says 1 hr only. Came back in less than 20 min and a ticket saying I'd been observed leaving the site, not sure how but I'm guessing there using CCTV as there were about 5 or 6 cars ticketed. Pay £100 fine but only £60 for paying quick. Well not much chance of that. There were only 10 cars in around a 100 space car park. Don't see that I have caused any inconvenience or affected trade for Staples and Maplin's which are the only shops on site; so I intend to just ignore it and not even appeal. Anybody think I'm misguided????? Comments appreciated.
  23. Hi all. I was discharged from Bankruptcy in 2011. ALL of my debts were included but there are a few companies flatly refusing to change my credit reporting entries and still reporting defaults on my outstanding balances. Also I voluntarilly surrendered my car at the same time over half way in agreement...but they also are still reporting a default on my credit. They surely cant be allowed to get away with this. My credit score is now worse than it was before my Bankruptcy. A lot worse.
  24. I was looking into a ppi claim for a cc we had years ago. The last statement I have is sept 2006 with a balance of £1541, I phoned the bank to ask some details. They have told me the account must have been closed as they have no records of it and it must of been closed a while. Cue a panic on their end when I said we've been paying this monthly for the past 111 months. They've asked me to write a covering letter and copy of bank statement. What do I need to be putting in this letter??? I'm a little shocked that this has been going on for so long (dopey husband who never checks his bank statement)
  25. Howdy all! Long and short of it is, for years I had an account with Abbey National, then changed to Abbey obviously. I went to Uni and had an overdraft with them of about £1500. When I left uni I didn't have the money to pay off the overdraft, but stupidly had my pay put into another basic savings account which eventually Abbey decided to swipe £700 pounds out of to service the other debt which by now had defaulted (I believe). After that I didn't go near Abbey accounts again and set up one elsewhere. The question I have is, the debt hasn't been transferred to a DCA but I get yearly statements from Santander saying that the balance is "X" and the letter says they have to send me this yearly to keep me up to date. I'm certain there are charges on this account that I could claim back but not enough to wipe out the debt, so I'm wondering if the debt is unenforceable despite the fact it's only an overdraft - does it work the same as a credit agreement? An overdraft is a form of credit, no? Any advice would be great and I'll try and answer any questions as best I can. Thanks
