  1. Hi , I hope somebody can give me some advice, I received a letter today from HMRC asking for wage slips from last April 13 to this year, i started working last august and gave them all the info and put in a childcare claim for my 3 children, I unfortunately had to leave this job last sept due to employer changing my hours and i stupidly carried on claiming the childcare, which was £80 per week as i was still activly looking for work. I realised how stupid i was being and rang in feb this year to cancel childcare and tell them i am no longer working, a bit late i know im not going to justify this silly mistake, it was money we had come to rely on. the letter does not mention childcare but asks for my wage slips as they think my award is wrong and they need to update my award by july 11th or my claim will be stopped, can anyone advise me what to do??
  2. Hi, I joined a company around 4months ago and I travel to get there around 2hrs each way. The job basically required me to work on site for my companies client. Every week I am suppose to complete a timesheet and I am suppose to complete 37.5hrs a week. On a daily basis especially the last 2 months, I reach work after 9am and I mostly leave the office by 3:30pm (I skip lunch) so I get in time to see my baby son before he sleeps but I work off my phone and remotely. I make sure all my tasks are on top of, I believed until this email that the client was happy with my work as I work and I always make time for the customer whether it be a phone call in the morning at 8am or a call after 5pm. Today I received an email stating I have a Disciplinary Investigation Meeting for Alleged issues with time keeping, possible dishonesty and fraudulent claiming for hours not worked; breaching code of ethics with regards to accurately recording and charging labour. My contract states my hours of work are 9-5:30pm however flexible working can be agreed with the manager, which he was happy with me to as long as I completed 37.5hrs in a week. I have had a word with HR and they said they have had to hold this meeting due to a complaint from the client and they have to follow process. What are the likely chances if they do find discrepancies within my time keeping that they would sack me for it and do I have any grounds to appeal if they did? I initially asked if my client could be present at the hearing as I honestly thought I was keeping the customer happy as I make sure the customers are well looked after and go beyond helping them every time. However it seems he is the one who has made the complaint so this has really baffled me. I have had no warnings, hints or anything in the last 4 months... Any advise on this matter would be of a great help. Thanks
  3. Hello, i am totally new to CAG and need advise. I am currently Nader police investigation for alleged piece swap where tkmaxx has CCTV passed to the police showing I bought items and returned other items under same receipts. I recently had a baby and as soon as I could get out of the house I went on a MAD shopping spree period over a couple of months where I was buying on credit card loads of items then return majority of them. On some occasion I would take the price tag off and then return the items within the allowed time having changed my mind. If some price tags were changed it was done completely innocently with no intention of wrongdoing or causing the shop a loss. One day I was at home alone with mu baby and the police came to search the house, they asked for Ll items I had purchased at tkmaxx recently and they seized them together with credit card statements and purchase receipts found. Same day I was interviewed on tape by police where I was finally told what the allegations were, I denied any wrongdoing and told them that any wrong price tag swap was due to the large amount of items bought and not remembering which one went where. They had a list of about 10/12 items for which tags may have been swapped at a loss for tkmaxx of approx £260, some of which tkmaxx are saying they were either not purchased from them or they are not fit for resale. About a month or so later I was called at the police station again for another interview when they showed me the CCTV and told me they could not understand how someone could make such mistake so many times! I continue saying I did to do any intentional wrongdoing and that the stress of having a baby, tiredness and being disorganised had caused this possible mistake. On both occasion the police told me to wait to hear more about their decision (I was told it could go to court). The items credit card and receipts seized are still in their possession. In the meantime while I'm still waiting for a deliberation by the police, I have receive a letter from RLP banning me from tkmaxx for like and asking compensation of £487. I have lost a lot of sleep over this and I'm starting to become ill with worry, I went to the CAB yesterday and told me to reply denying liabilities to the claim and seek legal advise. I have since spoken to a solicitor who told me to reply to RLP making an offer of part payment as they/tkmaxx could take me to civil court as there is also the possibility I can be taken to criminal court by the police due to the number of items... Over a week has passed for the date on the RLP letter and I still don't know what to do, threads I read seem to suggest to ignore them but my husband is scared they would pass this to the bailiffs. I am on maternity leave at present and instead of enjoying my time with my baby I cannot focus thinking of what could happen to me. I have never been involved with the police, my credit score is immaculate and have no debts. Can RLP access my salary and bank details to see if I can pay them, can they tell my employer to sack me? I have a very good job and cannot afford to loose it when I return from leave. Thanks so much to any advise you can give me, I'm totally confused with all different angles I have been given/reading.
  4. I have today received a letter from my local council stating that they have reason to conduct an investigation into a claim for housing benefit and council tax support and have been given a date and time to attend an interview regarding any capital or savings I may have and which I have not declared. Although I have no savings or capital I am still worried and would like to know whether this is just a standard letter that is sent out I look forward to your replies. i am an oap and this kind of thing worries me.
  5. Hello, could someone please tell me, after an accident at work....is an accident investigation a legal requirement.
  6. In a moment of madness (I have a recurring mental illness), I rang the benefits agency and told them (incorrectly) that I had received a lump sum which I had given away a number of years ago - what actually happened was that the money went to someone else but it had been offered to me and I hadn't accepted it. Since the 1st of January they stopped all benefits whilst they decided they would investigate what had happened. They stopped the benefits retrospectively - I did not find out until a couple of weeks later when I received a letter from them. So, now we are in February and my rent is not being paid and I understand that I can not apply for a crisis loan whilst they investigate me. It looks as if this situation could go on for some time. I have been to a drop-in in my local town where they have started to correspond with the benefits agency and local council - and it seems that there is nothing anyone can do about getting me a loan to manage. The only help that seems to be available is a bag of food each week - but it is not enough to last more than a few days. Does anyone know of anywhere where I can get financial assistance to pay for food? I don't think that I can last more than another week.
  7. Hi guys I found out by accident that I'm being investigated by dwp fraud dept . I went to the post office last month and no money paid in so as you do I rang them and was given a number to ring , the lady on the phone asked questions such as when do I get paid etc. , I though security checking no problem . then the bomb shell , she said I was being investigated for fraud apparently I was working (news to me ) ,I had been going to see my family who run a company and sitting chatting in the office. 3-4 days a week as my wife's father was seriously ill and I needed a break from it all . I didn't even answer a phone just chatted , so now my money stopped from April ,I get no money in at all and we have to live off my wife's wages . any way I asked how long the checks would take and how soon my money would restart and was told literally" how long is a piece of string "and the lady refused to give any details, I don't know where I stand or how we are going to pay our bills until its sorted I was told also if they find any thing I would be spoken to under caution (I think) so I asked if I needed a solicitor and was told why are you guilty . I said No but I would need to know what my next step is . when she hung up . so now we owe 4 weeks rent £95 week and 2 months council tax (I have spoken to the rent office and now receive £8 discount) but with my health not good and my wife's I need to find answers and where I can get legal aid for this as we have no money oh sorry about the ramble , please any advice that can help would be appreciated . oh spoke to cab and was told don't sign jobseekers as that's admitting your fit for work
  8. Hi I would be grateful for any advice . I am a single parent at university on housing Benefit I informed Housing Benefit I was at university and believed everything was fine however 3 years later after one year at Uni , one year on Income Support at home and last year at Uni ,with one and a half years to go to finish my course , Housing Benefit wrote and asked to see all my bank statements for year 2010 sept to july 2011 . I sent these to them , now they have asked to see every bank statement I have had for last three and a half years and want documentary evidence for payments out of my account , They are also asking for bank statements for an account I do not have. The amount of paperwork is huge .Are they allowed to ask for so much personal information some of it will be very hard to get . When I moved into where I am living it was unfurnished and my ex partners mother bought me furniture and I have been paying her back as I am able but obviously after 3 years she will not have receipts and also it is personal information ,Also other payments they are querying are rent payments despite them being labelled rent and them having tenancy agreement with my landlords name on ,I do not want to contact my landlord for a confirmation letter because I do not want him to think there is a problem with my rent ,Also they are querying a payment into my account of 130 from my sister which was just to help me out ,they are saying this was an income is this correct Thanks for any advice k
  9. Please can somebody give me some advice Yesterday i received a letter from tax credits stating they had reason to believe i was claiming as a single person and that (my partner) was linked to my address from may to octoer. I have failed to notify them of a change in circumstance but it is from july this year and not may, i put in my claim this year around june time when i was still living at my old address. I am not sure where they got their information from but now i am terrified i am going to be done for fraud and go to court. Initially me and my partner bought a house together last september but i never moved in, we broke up and i went back to my old address but i fad already changed all my banks doctors etc over to my new address and i didn't bother changing them back. My mother moved into my old address with me as she is very elderly and in poor health, me and my partner got back together after christmas but because i was loathed to leave my mom and didn't move back to the house we bought, she had a fractured vertebra and i just couldn't leave her, so i stayed. i was seeing my fella and had the odd stay in our new house together. i Anyway i sent off my renewal this year around june i think . Toward the end of July i moved back in with my fella to the house we bought last sept . On July 15 i was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, prognosis unknown, this completely turned my world upside down and i never told tax credits of my change of address or that i had moved in with him. Now this letter has come but they are questioning his presence at my old address? i lived there for 20 years but he never moved in with me there, he did have mail going there and obviously stayed over but we didn't live together there. I am terrified I am going to be in so much trouble here, I can't stop crying, Im so scared and upset, I know it's my own doing but i really never gave it much thought. I have written to HMRC tax credits today and explained i moved in in July and the reason why i didn't report change sooner and that i was sorry and offered to pay back everything. Can anyone give me some advice? i am so worried.
  10. Hello There I hope you can help me it's been a traumatic few weeks and I've no one to blame but myself but need some help as the whole situation is stressing me out and I'm very upset about it. It's quite a long one, but would appreciate anyone helping me if they can. Due to some personal issues I went out with a friend and got drunk to deal with it, I met up with some work colleagues and stopped drinking about 2 am but we stayed out till the club closed, at which point we went to another bar. At this point I have no memory of an entire hour, which is unusual because I wasn't drinking as much as I have, I've never lost memory during an evening before and was perfectly coherent in the previous hours as I remember everything, my sms messages were normal and things. Apparently during this hour a work colleague I asked to, got me a spirit drink so I drank at 5.40. As our place of work is next to said bar I figured it would be easier to go straight into work get ready and begin opening the shop (not literally of course but preparing) as I would start at 9 and figured I'd be okay. My colleagues came with me for a while one was completely sober, these aren't people I would normally hang out with my I add, I don't get on with 2 of them at all, one has complained about me many times (I'm a team leader). They left soon enough and I sorted the place out and when one of my bosses came in told him about my evening and them being in. He noted at this point this would have to be investigated as technically without a manager no-one should be on site. I said I was sorry I didn't know that and accepted it would be looked at. Because the cleaners were already in I thought it was okay, I've been very early before and been alone before and no-one has said anything (I've also been left alone by a manager). I had a horrible smell of alcohol which was unprofessional and noticeable. At 2 pm I was taken into an office by the main manager who also had come in at 9 who stated that he thought I was tipsy when I came in, and still was and he was sending me home. Aside from the smell, to my knowledge I'd done nothing out of the ordinary, my speech was fine, I did my job normally..etc.. wasn't wobbling or anything. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next evening I had a investigation meeting for Unauthorized access and intoxication at work. I explained my evening and my morning, stated I couldn't remember an hour and couldn't explain why. (I wonder if I was spiked). Explained my mitigating circumstances for going out, and how it was so uncharacteristic of me to do so, I've worked there 25 months without issue or disciplinary and been promoted. I was suspended at this point with pay until it was investigated further or action was decided. -------------------------------------------------- I was asked for another investigation meeting after 7 days which I've done. This was to go through some statements by those involved, cctv footage (which showed us entering and me doing normal things. I got some uniform out as obviously I hadn't intended to stay out which he asked if I had predetermined to do). I found out about the missing hour and a drink. I've agreed and held my hands up each time I entered the building at 6am, obviously must of been a intoxicated a little from the alcohol but when my shift began I honestly felt fine, just hungover. --------------------------------------------------- I received a call yesterday that I was to have a disp hearing in two days time and a letter would be emailed to me as I was okay with that instead of a letter as the letter would be too long. At 7pm I got a call from HR in London stating this was to be postponed(if at all it was to be done again) as the investigation wasn't finished on their end and she would hopefully do this tomorrow, she stated she would let me know if any action would be taken (or my site would contact me), if I would be needed for another investigation or if they decide to proceed with a disp hearing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm totally at a loss for my actions, I didn't intend them and expect to be fired, I love my job but recognize the severity but I'm feeling more and more stressed at the time it's taking to be resolved when I've admitted to stuff and been honest. I've been suspended for 14-15 days now (which is supposed to be as quick as possible), I'm not allowed to speak to anyone who works there (Despite being close friends with a lot of people) and such. I'm struggling to understand what more they need.. I find a few things odd however: - If I was deemed to be intoxicated why wasn't I sent home at 9 am and not instead till near my shift end at 2pm? Surely if I was bad I'd be much better at 2pm? - I'm far from the only person who works there who has been out till 5-6am, and gone to work at 9 smelling better sure, but technically would still be under the influence of alcohol without any punishment/words. - Unauthorized access I was unaware of this and generally didn't know and due to previous times I've been in thought it was okay. I understand I'm suspended for the gross misconduct, but the other 3 guys involved have been allowed to talk to each other, and worked for the past 2 weeks, I've been forbidden contact, surely it's not fair that they are able to collaborate stories and stuff? I can't do that. It can't be too impartial in their statements. And 2 of them entered also intoxicated, whilst not in shift they came in irrespective and I didn't force them. Seems unfair a little. -How much to mitigating circumstances be taken into account? - There is another Team Leader who sufferers with depression, however at least twice in the past 6 weeks she has been sent home for being hungover. Surely she should suffer disciplinary like myself? ----- I realize I'm in the wrong all over and have admitted this which is why I'm so confused with the length of time its taken, its also a huge stress cause,I can't even talk to friends from there concerned that I'm not in work, and I can't start any jobs until I'm fired/finished or know when I will be meaning the closer it comes to xmas the less likely it will be that I can get a job for rent. Does anyone have any help they can share at all? I'm well aware of how stupid I've been and dont' need any more critiques of this, believe me my head has been more than enough the past 14 days.
  11. Hi all, Does anyone know if DWP FIS let you by letter (or other way) if they have closed their investigation? Also if they do NOT intend to prosecute do they advise of this or not? My interview was 9 months ago, won my tribunal appeal 3 months ago but have not heard anything regarding if case has been closed or is still on going. Thanks
  12. Well well what a surprise !!!! . For a full copy of the article...please see the link at the end of this post...... COUNCIL bosses are under pressure to investigate a possible conflict of interest after it emerged the company that hands out council tax benefit is also in charge of bailiffs that chase unpaid rates. Capita Group have an £11.5million annual contract to manage various services on behalf of Westminster, including collecting council tax and providing advice to residents who apply for reduced rates. When residents fall behind on council tax, private bailiffs are employed to pursue the debt. But unbeknown to them, Equita Ltd, one of the bailiff companies used by Westminster, are owned by Capita Group. It has led to claims of a “pincer movement” against residents as those who are unable to pay full council tax or think they qualify for an exemption have to contact Capita to put their case. If people are unsuccessful, and fail to keep up payments, their debt will pursued by bailiffs who include Equita. Capita say there is no conflict because both contracts were secured after a “rigorous and competitive tender process”. http://www.westendextra.com/news/2013/aug/call-probe-%E2%80%98bailiffs-and-tax-collector%E2%80%99-link
  13. I am new here and found you all following a search. I would like to please ask for comments and or advice regarding a complex and distressing situation at work, and apologise in advance for being vague and the length but after a browse of the forum it seems you give good support and advice . (I have over two years employment). Last year new manager appointed, obviously did not like me but well in with big boss. I previously got on well with big boss prior to new manager starting. Out of the blue, Big boss suspends me pending investigation, moved to different area and outcome eventually no formal action, return to substantive post, mediation to smooth process. Attended mediation, new manager and me plus two mediators. New manager did not really engage and brought new issues but tentative agreement reached so I awaited date for return. Big boss then comes to me and takes me into the office, mediation has failed, therefore you are refused return to your post, it will be advertised asap but you are still suspended. Hands me letter stating I have agreed to above and to meet to agree where I will be placed long term asap. I email disputing letter, copy hr and harassment continues with email from big boss stating I know current duties not a post so unsustainable going forward. During above events I approached lead mediator to find out whats going on, who turns out to be new senior hr person for our section (!!!) who now suggests three way facilitated meeting to resolve outstanding issues and also tells me union rep not previously involved has approached hr following mediation stating other party approached them and is now saying I am intimidating them and feels unable to attend further meeting at the moment. Turns out both mediators hr managers, however representation not allowed during mediation and it is supposed to be confidential and without prejudice. Facilitated meeting above would be with representation, but needs agreement. HR then replied to my email disputing letter, and that Big Boss saying new Manager refusing further meetings at the moment, HR now saying no further one to one between me and big boss, suggested options are meeting with big boss, hr mediator person, me and union rep (different one who is leading my case but is good mates with above union rep) to discuss letter or submit grievance for further investigation, they are awaiting response from me. I have said I will respond to above. But am working with the above union rep who intervened following mediation as part of my alternative duties (which I have continued with as no other option at present) and this person has now told me they are line managing me "whilst this is all sorted out" no other explanation of how this came about or any written information given. I asked if representing other person but states only giving advice to both of us. Divided loyalties all over the place it seems. It is all a big mess I know, I have some ideas but appreciate any comments or advice on pro active next steps so I don't end up without a job please? I need to respond to HR asap.
  14. I have been having problems at work since new management took over this year i have worked there for 2 years with a clean record and excellent references, an incident occurred between myself (i am a receptionist) and a manager were she shouted at me on a corridor in front of patients and pointed her finger in my face. She then called me into the office and continue to be abusive, i complained to the general manager and she promised a full investigation would take place and asked me to send a statement. I did this immediately and expected a full investigation. Around 2 weeks after the incident i received a letter from HR to invite me to attend a meeting with the HR manager and the manager in question for allegation of me falsely claiming overtime for work i had done during my working hours. I queried this with HR as i did not think it was fair for this particular manager to conduct the investigation as i had a grievance against her, they informed me that it was not a grievance it was a statement and no further action was taken (i did not realise this at the time) I attended the meeting which was factual they stated that my overtime (this was work i was asked to do, there was never a protocol or meeting it was just simply a spreadsheet of patients to discharge or book appointments around 20000 of them and this has been ongoing since June 2012) has anomolies because i had completed the work during working hours and not in the overtime and asked if they checked the systems could i prove i was at work. I replied to say that i had emailed my line mangaer on numerous occasions for help with my workload and i decided using my own initiative that it would be much easier for me to do the overtime during working hours (it was system based) and my work during overtime as it was pulling notes, preparing them for clinic which was easier to do when i was alone. I did not need to be logged onto the system for this and i have colleagues who will vouch for me that you dont need to be logged onto the system to prepare notes therefore they cannot say i did not do the overtime as they cannot use the system to be accurate. Since then i have had no contact until today i received another email to attend a meeting on Tuesday (short notice) and that during the investigation for my overtime they found other information and are now accusing me of patient safety and alleging that i discharged patients without doing a note review or checking letters. I did what i was asked to do, i cannot be liable for discharging patients unless it was a mistake, i am not m and have done since June 2012, there were never any issues and i have never made any mistakes like this since i started work, i am also not medical therefore i cannot review notes and no protocol was put in place for me to do this, noone asked me how i did the work and it was just handed to me. 2 weeks ago my colleague recieved a protocol I contacted a union representative today who told me to reschedule the meeting and she will attend with me once we have met to discuss. I feel like i am being victimised and bullied, my line manager is currently off work and has been for nearly 6 months due to stress and has a grievance against one of the managers. I feel like they are looking for things that i may have done wrong and i am worried that it may lead to disciplinary action. I actually had an interview yeserday because i need to leave this place and am waiting for a start date, once this comes through and i have full clearance i will hand in my notice. I will have to work 4 weeks notice and i am not sure i can handle this stress that has taken over my life the past few months, i am not worried about references and am thinking to attend the meeting and then call in sick once i have clearance from my new employer and then resign once i have received my wage at the end of the month. I am very unsure on what to do and where i stand. Please help!!!
  15. Hi Just need some advice for my sister. She was told she was having a disciplinary investigation in 30 mins yesterday - no warning or knowledge of what it was about. In the meeting (big retail store) she was given three allegations which were alleged gross misconduct, loss of trust and confidence & unauthorised removal of a company record. As this is 'fact finding', surely they are trying to find facts on the alleged record??????? - can they at this stage state alleged gross misconduct and loss of trust and confidence? How do they know this if they have not yet investigated? Advice is much appreciated as she is very upset.
  16. I am looking for an impartial view on a situation my fiancee is in. Hopefully I can help put her mind at ease as she is in pieces. Anna is being investigated for potential gross misconduct for sharing a username and password. She sent a website link to a colleague but unknowingly this link included her expired username and password for a third party credit reference agency (access is revoked after 28 days inactivity). Anna had never used the details due to a recent promotion and on original receipt of the access sent an email to her IT support to have her access transferred to a colleague. IT set her colleague up with her own username and password which have only been accessed by that colleague. No customer information was ever exposed as Anna's access was decommissioned. The investigating officer of her employer has confirmed the details were never used but she is worried that even though this is the case the access details (even though decommissioned) were passed on by mistake... Sharing of a username and or password is warrant for gross misconduct in the employee handbook... Your thought's would be appreciated.
  17. Hello. I work for a retailers online delivery service. We have a shop within the warehouse which we use to sell products which we can no longer send to customers to staff at a reduced rate. The system we use is that we reduce an item by 50% and if it does not sell we then reduce it to 75% off. So I was recently working on the shop. And I put an item through the till for myself (Company policy states that I should not have done that.) Where the story takes an ugly turn though is that the item had been on sale at 50% and had not sold. Instead of putting a new pricing label on with 75% I instead reduced it manually at the till. I was put on suspension while the matter is investigated. However I was able to show that I was not the first person to buy the item at that price, and the investigating manager in fact confirmed this. However I am still on suspension and they have not been able to give me any clue why it's taking so long. The worry I have is that management may try and argue that I should not have reduced the item by the amount I did to begin with. And although I was simply following what my manager had asked me to do (reduce everything to 75%) as this is a brand new section at less than 2 weeks old. And we don't really have any of these procedures written down, It would really come down to my word against theirs. When I last spoke to the investigating manager they told me it would be at least another week until I heard anything, this will bring the investigation up to 2 weeks. I've already admitted that I served myself and shouldn't have. But have also shown that I wasn't doing anything to exploit the business. I'm hoping that people on this site may be able to offer some guidance and advice. I don't feel that the mistake I made would warrant dismissal, but can't help that feel that the only reason the investigation would take so long is that they're trying to build a case for it. I really love my job and have done a lot for the place. But I find myself considering handing in my notice to avoid having an accusation of theft on my record. If anyone would like some more details please ask. Thanks very much.
  18. My friend, yes its a friend has had a fraud investigation from DWP round, they said they had evidence of she was not living alone and talked to them, she also had an interview under caution at the job center i think, one of thier offices anyways. this was 9 weeks ago. in the 9 weeks they have stopped all her benefits of child tax, housing and income support etc they have now said that their are no grounds to support their case and is waiting for it to be finalised! whaterver finalised means maybe someone can explain they have also said to her that she can re-apply for the benefits after 6 weeks have passed after the case is finalised , but their will be no back-payment of any money while the investigation went on and she is not entitled to anything. is this correct
  19. Hi all, Just some advice really, My girlfriend has had a investigation interview with regard to a complaint that been lodged by a customer. The customer was served and decided to wait for there food. During the 2-3 minute wait a co worker has passed the counter and my girlfriend has said that she would drop an invite off for her (we get married next month) The customer complained about this and she has had a meeting which all they asked her did she remember the event (which she said no) and has she received customer service training (she said yes but it was 18 months ago). 20. I am due to attend a disciplinary interview next week in regards to some problems at work. These problems relate to stock items found within a work wastebin. An investigation was undertaken in regards to these items and I was called to and investigation interview without any prior notification. At this interview no evidence to support my employers was submitted, however I did admit to throwing some items away but at no time was I given an opportunity to state which Items I had thrown away. I am now due to attend a disciplinary meeting in regards to items I had no prior knowledge off. As part of this disciplinary procedure I have been given photographic evidence of items, and a brief investigation statement carried out by my line manager. These photographs are not of the items I admit to throwing away. In his investigation report, he reports conversation he had with my workmates whoever provides no written statements from these workmates. My line manager has had it in form ever since he came to our store a few months ago. His first conversation with me when he first joined was in regards to extending my probationary period beyond its stated term. I informed our HR department about this and other issues, ever since then he has obviously had it in for my, some of his tactics used are the constant changing of my rotas, often without any prior notification. Any advice would be much appreciated. Robin
  21. PPI was frequently (but not wholly) sold to parties who had little or no use for it. The fact that massive levels of dishonesty were being perpetrated was ignored for many years - banks profits and bankers' bonuses were engorged as a result. The PPI scandal (mis-selling is not the correct word for a large part of it) was going on for too many years for it not to be know about at all levels of the banks. In allowing to go on there is at least an argument that there has been consipracy to defraud by senior management in conjuction with their own banks. This would not be an easy prosecution - but even an investigation of serious degree will really make those involved and those now involved realise that they cannot escape the full attention of the law. At present the contrary is believed - namely the banks are too big to fail and bankers too powerful to be prosecuted. We really must make the effort and try to get the senior perpetrators. This resolution states: PPI has cost the tax payer perhaps ten billion pounds No criminal investigation has been conducted No one has been prosecuted The SFO has indicated it does not wish to examine the issues Such a major failure merits a proper criminal investigation Even if ultimately the investigation fails it will signal intent to pursue white collar criminals as far as can be done when they steal from the public We therefore call for proper resources to be made available to investigate PPI and where there are associated conspiracies to defraud.
  22. help or advice much needed....... i work 16hrs per week but started off at 40hrs per week 3yrs ago..... due to work related injury and time off for surgery, i had to be moved to another dept on doctors recommendation and he had to write to my employers to request this because the occupational health lady refused to contact him saying " he just wants a big fee from us for writing a letter, all we need is your story and i take notes"..... Anyways, i got moved to another dept which happened to be chilled where i am up and down a stool for four hours stretching to back of shelves etc........ I ended up pulling a muscle in my shoulder and was off for a month.....Now previous to this, i had warned employers that my arthritis was playin up due to the cold and i asked if i could be moved again ( my arthritis was never a problem in other depts and i never knew it would present a problem in chilled until i got moved there)....... I had to go on sick leave again and more doc requests and more occupational health visits with same view that she wont contact my doctor because its all about money and collecting fees in any way that they can. So basically time off work with injury and warnings about arthritis, then occupational health not being helpful in least, I felt intimidated into goin back to work in same dept or i was gonna get sacked. I went back on reduced hours,. but had to work in same dept and i had to increase my pain relief to get thru each shift...... I spoke to managers with them all sayin they will phone me but they never, i requested another meeting with occupational health representative but that has never happened, and just the other day i went to work and was ambushed into a meeting and told my absences were goin to investigation. I was not asked until 20 minutes into the meeting if i wanted a rep with me and they could get one for me...... I was shocked at it all happening, and said somethin along the lines of " where would i find a rep at this time of morning at short notice and should i not have been given prior warning about this meeting to give me time to arrange a rep?" I went thru the meetin sayin very little and had no option but to sign the written notes which apparently i will be sent copy of with a date for the investigation. I have spoken to my doctor who reckons they have broken many rules when it comes to me returning to work because they refused to move me dept knowing i now had a disability which meant i was not fit for the job they kept making me do each day. They deliberately ignored his written requests to move me from chilled area due to arthritis getting worse and pain relief havin to be increased....... I asked to speak to managers many times wen at work and they always said " i will come see you before you finish your shift" but wen i went lookin for them they were always in a meetin. My last visit with occupational health was discussin possibility of comin back on 2 days per week because i was still due 46hrs holiday which i must take before end of march 2013 or i lose them ( each holiday request i put in was declined, i still have the forms....(.i was declined because others were given priority) and just recently i had to put in holiday forms to try not lose my holiday entitlement but they were declined again.... i also told my manager that i never got after last occupational health visit so it seems her request for my 2 day return to work with my other 2 days being used up as holiday entitlement, was not acted upon and it now looks like i am gonna lose 46hrs holiday entitlement because my manager keeps refusing my holiday requests...... I am quiet shy person at work and dont make a fuss which is probably why they intimidate me and basically run rings round me......I go to work, do best i can then go home........ i enjoy workin there and have many friends but they all say the same, my manager is takin **** because i wont stand up to them. so basically my absences are up for investigation. I am scared im gonna lose my job..... I need a rep to help me as i dont know wat all this means or wat happens . I also want to argue about my holiday entitlement as well because it is their fault i have accrued so much and now may lose out on it all. And their policy on diversity which states " make every effort when colleagues become disabled that they are able to stay in employment - actively progress and/or any reasonable adjustment".... I probably veered off track several times but my nerves in tatters over this....... any advice or help would be much appreciated...thankyou
