  1. I ordered a football ticket for a Xmas gift.... it never arrived. The company told me it would be with me the day before the event. I have emailed, phoned, many many times and cannot get anywhere with the company. I am out of pocket £108.00 and a Xmas gift was ruined. Can anyone help?
  2. Hi, I'm new and would like to thank anyone for any help in advance. I had a payday loan for £100, £129 due, with repayment on Thursday. As I have a new bank, they could not automatically take the £129. However, I bank transferred it on the due date (as it said it can be on their website). I sent an email and telephoned them informing them of the payment. All fine... but then: I kept getting calls/texts on Friday and I had also transferred £50 to that old account to cover another bill and PDE took £25. I phoned again, they apologized, said they would issue me with a £25 refund and pass on that its been paid. They took another £25 yesterday and I will face a bank charge aswell as a direct debit rejection charge from talktalk. Is there anyway I can claim the charges back from the mess that is PDE! So annoying! Thanks, Susan
  3. In October i returned from a holiday in the USA. My last port of call was Las Vegas. On my return to the UK, i noticed i had left my jacket in my hotel room in Las Vegas. The jacket was brand new and cost me £160.00 so i decided to get the hotel to return the jacket. I went into my local mail forwarding chain company (mail boxes) and asked them to collect the goods from the hotel in America. They stated no problem and arranged collection through Federal Express at a cost of £54.00 which i paid. Two weeks later i received my jacket, along with a bill for £20.00 customs charge. I ignored this as i had paid the price and customs does not apply as i had not purchased the jacket in America, but the UK. Three weeks later i receive a letter from a solicitor stating i will be hung, drawn, and quartered if i do not pay £20 within 7 days. I responded by email to the solicitor putting the account into dispute, and i received no reply. Yesterday i received another solicitors letter saying pay up in 7 days or its court. So i phone them and recorded the call. They asked me to send them again my original email, which i did. I then receive an email back as confirmation and that they were going to take instruction from their client. The point in all this is they are trying to charge me an extra £20 to put the item through customs, its a management charge and nothing to do with any VAT. I paid the charge quoted by Fed Ex to have my property returned at £54.00. Their was no mention i would have to pay a Fed Ex own charge to put the item through customs comment people
  4. Hello there, I do hope some of the great members of this forum could help me out! Basically I've been really stupid and have amassed a large amount of debt with these three pay day brokers, I've somewhat come to my sense now and have realised I cannot keep paying off each loan with a brand new one! I have sent emails to each othe the three companies in question, so far the only response i have recieved is from Wonga, who have told me that i have to wait until the due date to set up a repayment plan. I'm sure you can tell this is very stressful and i have absolutely no experience or idea of what these companies can give/ask for? So any advice would be golden...
  5. Hi, Payday Express have passed my debt to a DCA even though I was paying them back a certain amount per month. I have now agreed a repayment plan with the DCA they were okay being honest. Should I continue paying Payday Express as before or should I pay the DCA from now on? will the amount outstanding owed to Payday Express be cleared when I pay of the DCA in full? Any advice would be appreciated.

  7. hi, not sure if ive put this on correct thread, have been thinking about claiming for mis sold mortgage ,just wondered if there is anyone with any advice at all on what to do or hold out and see what happens about the libor fixing, long story but will try to shorten it! in 2006 we sold our house of 23 years and moved, we went to a broker in our local town, and was advised the best option for us was to self certify, (i was on disabled benefits, have serious illness) hubbie was working at that time, 2 children, got a mortgage through GMAC, fixed for 2 years, from 2006-2008 interest rates went UP, when we came off fixed in march of 2008 we couldnt manage new payments, ( in this time though gmac sold our mortgage to mortgage express which is owned by bradford and bingley) tried to get help from ME but were useless, by 2010 we were in real trouble with mortgage etc, it took over a year but eventually we qualified for a government mortgage rescue scheme, whereby a social housing bought our house and we now still live in our house but pay them rent, we did have a shortfall, we were in negative equity, but that seems to have disappeared! thank fully, we also had a secured loan on our house, but with help from the rescue team they were given a small sum of money to let them release the charge on house for it to be sold, we still owed them over £20k but on our credit reports it says we have paid it off, it says cleared!! we lost the ownershop of our home, had huge charges added on over the years but yesterday received a cheque from them for £20 as they had overcharged us for the exit fee!! this is from august 2010!! anyone have any ideas where to start, what to do if anything?? many thanks
  8. I currently have a number of payday lenders and have been through the mill borrowing to cover interest, cancelling direct debits for council tax, on a continuous cycle. Eventually just snapped and decided to contact each of my lenders to advise of financial difficulty. Simply couldn't go on any longer paying interest and reborrowing, and now have final demands on council tax and the likes - danger! Mr Lender - Cannot believe how understanding they were, plan agreed immediately Lending Stream - A couple of useless customer reps on the phone but in the end 11 month plans agreed! Payday Express - Told me I didn't meet their criteria of 'hardship' over the telephone despite my ignored emails. Told me that someone would need to be dead, and I would need to have no money for a funeral and no job! Enraging! I quoted a few pieces of recent legislation and requested that they refrained from trivialising my circumstances, then challenged them on their right to define the word 'hardship' and asked whether the feel that in court they would be sided with, and accused them of attempting to manipulate standard terms to avoid current lending codes of practice. They then 'as an act of goodwill' offered me a repayment plan and told me they were always looking to learn from these experiences. So in the end I have an affordable plan. I was quite worried when I saw all the terrible dealings people have been having with this company. Wonga - Very professional and helpful TxtLoan - Also excellent in helping PaydayUK - Very professional in helping too I now need to try and sort something with 247moneybox - anyone had any dealings with them? I'd be happy to spread my loan over the next 4-5 months to clear it. Come March/April I will finally be out of this eternal loop. I have been trapped in th cycle for about 18 months. Nasty!

  10. Please help!!! I have two properties in my name. One was my personal property that I used to live in and now let, the other a buy to let with joint owners, both financed with Mortgage Express . Mortgage Express were offering no penalties for early redemption when I spoke with them in early January I decided to sell my personal "buy to let" property and reinvest the money. Tuesday 20th November 2012 was the completion date for selling my personal property. Three hours before I was due to complete I received an Email from my Solicitor with a letter attached from Mortgage Express sent to them on 24th September. The Email said there was no balance to pay into my account and to refer to the letter. This letter I had never seen before. It was titled "Right to Consolidate". The letter stated that Mortgage Express would not apply their "Right to Consolidate" but went on to say that they require all sale proceeds of the property to go to them of which they would put reduce the balance of the mortgage of the second property that I joint own with three other people. so three hours before completion that this nice lump sum that I thought was coming to me would be taken away. Over the next two days I was seeking advice, Emailing my Solicitor, faxing Mortgage Express, phoning them, which was very hard getting through to the right person, but to no avail and then be told they were looking to reduce the loan to value on the other property. they were applying their "Right to Consolidate" but in a roundabout way. All the other examples I have read of this is where landlords etc are in arrears. None of these accounts are in arrears and all have been managed impeccably. I thought that the "Right to Consolidate" was only if there was an outstanding debt? I mentioned this to Mortgage Express and they answered by saying the fact that the other property still has a mortgage and they want to reduce the loan to value counts as an outstanding debt in their terms and conditions. With four joint owners on the other property it is going to make things very tricky. Are Mortgage within their rights of their terms and conditions to do this on an up to date account? Can anyone please help??? Mark
  11. Folks as stated in a previous thread I have been a member of CAG for a few yrs now and the help and advice I have in the past and been superb. I must admit to being ashamed having found myself in a dangerous position with four PDL,s. One of the four is the infamous Payday Express, whom after reading about on CAG appear to be one of the main hardballers. I borrowed £600 off them and by the time I am scheduled to pay them back on the 28th of this month, will have risen to £750. We are struggling badly, leaving me no alternative but to default. I have read through quiye abit of the PDE forum and can find little to suggest what possible outcomes can be. They seem to play hardball from the onset, I see little evidence of repayment plans being set up, so the question Iam asking is ..What can I expect from them (trouble and harrassment I know) but what practicably ?..Is it likley to go to debt collectors after a period of time ? and does anyone with experience of them know what they do in terms of the interest...Folks abit long winded, I know..but could do with some pointers when dealing with these
  12. I had a text yesterday morning from Lloyds TSB, as normal, stating that I was overdrawn and yadda yadda... Then the Monday Text came which gives me my last 5 transactions... Which were not recognised. I had a loan with PayDayExpress back in July, now being dealt with by the CCCS and being paid as far as I know... And they've taken the following; 25.00 25.00 50.00 200.70 25.00 100.70 These have been taken from a variety of cards which I have owned, none of which were my payment cards for PDE. Lloyds have opened a fraud case as this simply not right. I was half way to calling the police too, seeing as they've phished around for my old card details from Moneyshop (who they work with). My account is now £542.44 overdrawn and they've actually taken a hell of a lot more than what was owed (£325 all in all, they've taken £426.40). What do I do? Lloyds were talking about collections and my account has been frozen with them due to my minor overdraft of £117... Now it's stirred the indian call centre right up and they're ringing me every waking hour now too... Payday Express really are the lowest of the low, theiving ****.
  13. Hi this is the first time i have used the forum so apologies in advance for any errors. My story is that in September 2011 i took out a loan with payday express for £160. I defaulted on this loan but paid back £270 by April 2012 at which time they told me verbally that the loan had been settled. I was then surprised to be contacted by crs saying that i owed payday express £25, i disputed this and gave them details of the transaction i had made with payday express. They went back to payday express with this information and then got back to me saying that payday express had gone through the account and the amount i owe is actually £125. Seeing as i have already paid £270 for borrowing £160 i am refusing to give them another penny. Any help on this matter would be appreciated Many thanks jb184
  14. Hi, Briefly: Im with Payplan. Here's link to my post about all my PDL's: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?363762-4-Payday-Loans-now-with-Payplan-but-.....&p=3974544#post3974544 Apparently all have accepted the offers but PaydayExpress have called about 8 times every day (no message) and 8 times today plus called work. Before anyone says I have just sent the harassment letter which they got today but where do I go from here? I know I can complain but to whom? Many thanks, Jon
  15. hi ive had some brilliant advice and help from this forum, have got payment plans in place now for wonga, 247/moneybox, but pde constantly just send same email as everyone else seems to get, do i pay what i can each month without the payment plan in place? i have their bank details so can do this online, my money is secure in another a/c, anyone help with wording of next letters to send to get them to agree,( my previous posts, some of you will now, my wife is seriously ill and is still i hdu and has been for over 8 weeks now) so stress is a daily thing at the moment, any help would be most welcome, i also have minicredit who you can only email through their website so you have no means of proving what youve sent etc, and i owed £117 two weeks ago, today it is £289! does anyone have their bank details or how to pay them without a debit card, or emails address for them??
  16. Good evening everyone, could I get some opinions on the situation Im in with PDE. I borrowed 800 in the summer and been juggling other PDL's ever since. It come to the point where I was well behind on most and Im slowly sorting them out. PDE badgered the life out of me but its good to hang up on them. Keep ringing and Ill keep hanging up. Simple. Anyway I hadnt made any payments for awhile, maybe the odd charge of £25 or 2 x £25 and my account was escalating out of control. This last week I had 750 took from my bank which was a big hit, and I wasn't really impressed but thought my balance must now be next to nothing. I emailed them and they say I still owe 1100 after the 750 they have took in 1 week ? Now I dont really fancy paying this to be honest as over the months I must of payed maybe 1500 in total back ? My bank account they take money from is now frozen as my banks security thought the constant debits were fraudulent. I'm transferring my wages elsewhere from now on so PDE can get ****ed if they think there getting anymore off me. Whats their next move from here ? As Iv no intention of paying anymore because they had my eyes out enough.
  17. Hi all, I took a Payday loan in 2010 out with Payday express - not denying it I had it.. got into dificulty and Clarke Richards started to deal with it.. (I cant seem to find dates at the moment), since Clarke Richards screwed me over, I stopped paying them and hence nothing was going to PDE. Since that I have had no communication with PDE. I recieved the following email on Tuesday 9th Oct. from MRS relating to Payday Express.: I sen them a reply asking for more info - dates opening amounts etc but nothing back so, I gave them a quick call to get an acknowledge recipet of the email (I know I shouldnt but I kept saying everything in writing, Even talking over her with the exact same phrase that she didnt like ), but they werent forthcoming to send any info in writing but began to read everything off to me, some of it incorrect suchas date I took loan out, oh and how there going to contact my employer to get the funds out of my wages - they quoted a company I got made redundant from 2 years ago! (been on benifits) So I decided to hit the reply button again and sent this (I included there complaints team): Funnily enough Only the complaints email failed as no such address exsits even though it was taken from there own website... Well today (3days after original email) I have just recieved the following: Now MRS have stated I took a loan out for the value of £715 in November 2011 -- This is the Default amount and date on my credit file!! I've heard that these can be quite nastey and see it as any request for information about the account as a stalling tactic (something that the young girl said when I asked her to send me the info). I'm adament that the £715 is full of intrest and charges and thus require a full statement of account detailing all transactions. Should I do the £1 CCA request as there Loan take out dates seem to differ or are they going to disregard it as a stalling tactic? Any other help on this would be great assistance.
  18. Just paid my final payment to Payday Express today - just awaiting the confirmation in response to my email requesting that it is marked as paid in full on my credit file and that my account is closed with no further payments required. I am ecstatic Just Muck Hall to go - £150 will be settled by November - and am then payday loan free for the first time in 2 years!!!! Nice Christmas present to myself!. Cant believe I never ever have to deal with them ever again. Sorry just wanted to share my joy on here
  19. Hi all Received a letter today from payday express asking for full payment of £740 within 14 days from the date of this letter. Advising me to call there office (of course i wont be doing that) History is the original loan was from way back in Feb this year. and was totaling £500. I emailed them firstly in march when it became apparent i couldnt afford this payment in full. I had numerous emails ignored and then when it was eventually replied to i got this email "Thank you for your recent email Our accepted criteria for a repayment plan are as follows: • Major Loss of income • Unexpected change in personal circumstances e.g. Major Loss of income • Severe Disability or illness (not excluding close family members) • Terminal illness or Mental illness (not excluding close family members) • Deceased (not excluding close family members) • Redundancy or Reduced hours (contractual hours reduced by company) We are unable to set a repayment plan unless it is evidence that one of the above has caused yourself financial difficulties. " AT the time i didnt fit that criteria so sent back a few emails (all ignored ) stating that i couldnt afford the payments. Anyway i was then made redundant and at the time (back in june) a family member offered to give me £500 to clear this debt (the original amount borrowed) I emailed this to payday express and received this. " Dear Mr xxxxxx, Client Reference: xxxxxxx Further to your recent communication. We write to inform you that we will accept your settlement offer of £584.00 to extinguish your debt with Express and this payment will need to be made within the time frames already agreed. Please be advised that your credit file will be marked part settled. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact our Collections Support Department on 0115 908 1163, and one of our advisors will be able to assist you. Alternatively you can contact us via email at collections@paydayexpress.co.uk. Regards, Payday Express" I never offered £584 I then replied stating my offer of £500 stands otherwise i would have no choice but to pay a £1 per month. They ignored this and sent me two further emails stating they had been trying to contact me (no contact received) and then the letter today. Not sure how to respond to this, i am no longer in the position to offer the £500 as a settlement figure as it had to be used to keep me afloat the last few months. thanks for any help as ever
  20. Hi All, I took out a Loan with Payday Express on the 1st September in order to pay an urgent tax bill that i received last week. I have now been given the money from elsewhere and called to ask if I could cancel my loan for £735. I was told yesterday (and just now) that as this is not my first Loan with the company I am not allowed to cancel the agreement and must pay the full interest on top of the loan amount. This is stated in their terms and conditions also. However, I am sure that I have a legal right to be able to cancel this agreement (obviously paying the interest for the days incurred on the loan). At present, it seems as if there is no budging them, but i refuse to pay the full amount as i cannot see what difference it makes as to whether this is your first or 100th Loan with the company. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. J
  21. so i have a loan out with payday express i was in my 7 days cancellation period when i phoned to pay off my balance which should ave been the original loan and maybe 7 days interest. They said i can not do this as i can only do it with my first loan is this correct? the guy on the phone was a complete Piers Morgan aswell. I just want to pay what i am due why do these people have to be so awkward. anybody know what my rights are regarding this? cheers
  22. Long story short, I got into a bit of mess with payday loans to the point where I eventually went to a debt management company. Like the idiot that I was, I forgot about Payday Express and felt rather positive that, given their actually rather helpful way in being that you roll over x amount of times, they attempt to 'help' by taking a little bit more to lower next month's payment. Well, that's what they suggested, asking for email confirmation which I gave them back in April. Little did I know that their interest rate was going up, and therefore they conveniently failed to receive my email and took the lot, leaving me completely screwed on my pay day. But it's ok, they say when I call them up to say hey, what the heck were you doing, because they can offer me another loan! And, since my plan had been to pay them in full a couple of months later when I'd be in a better position, I did because I'm a moron like that. Cue a few weeks ago when I finally bit the bullet and admitted that actually, with utility and vet bills to pay, I couldn't handle it. I discovered this, by the way, the day that my payment to the debt management company was the payment to bounce. Luckily they were really nice about it, and have taken on Payday Express. Obviously they didn't get their money when I got paid, and that day they phoned my home phone eight times to speak to me between 9 and 6, and once in the evening which I actually missed. The next day they called a similar amount of times, and my mother took down their number and asked me to call them back, which I did instantly. When I told them I was with a debt management company, they said the name and told me they'd refused their offer, and asked if I'd pay the settlement figure they had. Obviously, I said no. They told me they'd have to at some point start proceedings against me and it would affect my credit rating (I think I actually laughed at that), and I said please do, their collection company will have to acknowledge the amount they're offered. (To my knowledge at least). In the meantime, would they be so kind as to stop calling my home phone because they're winding my parents up with the number of calls they make. Later the same day, I get another call from them. I told him I'd already spoken to them. He knew (?) and then started asking me questions about why I won't pay a settlement figure if I can afford to now I'm with a debt management company. I told him about that stunt they pulled in April/May and said I realise he probably has a target to reach but he's not getting anything out of me, I'm with a debt management company and speak to them, don't call me. A couple of days later, I received another call from them. The woman checked my details, read off the information she had on the screen, then said she was sorry, she much have made a mistake in calling me, and that was that. Starting yesterday though, they're back to phoning more than 3 times a day. My mum doesn't know how many times they called as she actually has a social life and was out half the day. I'm sure there was a more concise way of saying all this but I figured I'd give you the details!! Are they at that point yet where I can threaten them? I'm actually rather placid, REALLY not good at threatening, but I'm pretty sure this constitutes harassment now!! There isn't a single detail I can give them to make their call worthwhile!! Even their emails asking me to contact them, but disregard the email if I've already spoken to them. I don't suppose anyone has any amazing advice out there by any chance...?
  23. A brief Chronology Amex Card, firstpursued by Creit Solutions in Summer 2007. CCA sent and defaulted on ( under old time frame) OC did send a very poor quality of application form with a printed "Application Form"in two places covered with white labels ! - this on the photocopy of the application form rather obvious I thought. Nest page was very general T & C also almost unreadable such was the photocopy quality Next Moorcroft had a go, and they were sent packing with the "Bemused" letter (late 2007-early 2008) Cut forward to Aug 2008, a letter from Brachers "acting for" demanding full settlement plus a raft of their charges. They were sent a "Bemused letter and also a request for their official complaints proceedure, the numpties read this as to be forwarded to AMEX as a complaint on (Amex) proceedures, They still dripped on a bit, so copied the Bemused letter ( always sending everything RecDel) and finally sent them a letter suggested here to the effect that if they as solicitors did not understand about defaulted CCA then they should maybe ask a Judge to explain. They then went quiet until yesterday, when I had a letter detailing Final offer a 50% payoff, ( no mention of fees/charges etc ) Not headed Without Prejudice or anything similar, sttlement to be made in seven days or legal proceedings MAY be commenced for full outstanding balance plus costsetc etc Now, as I understand it, Credit Solutions are still in default of my 2007 CCA request, so they are the ones if anyone who should be pursuing, all others can Foxtrot O! Second, If Brachers had a proper agreement to satisfy a court, why would they make an offer of 50% of the amount? This leads me to believe that 1) Brachers have no right to pursue anyway 2) They( and no-one else can provise the proper paperwork 3) Brachers have so far ignored my section 10 DPA Sta Notice sent in Sept What would be the best way to answer them? repeat a "Bemused" letter, with ammendements Many thanks

  25. My wife and I are having a big problem with Payday Express which is completely caused by their own failings and wondered if anyone can advise. During the last month, my wife took out a loan with them for £640. We’ve used them before (not without some previous problems) but we’ve always borrowed responsibly from them. Our previous issues have been quite minor in comparison – things like paying £15 for a same day fee that didn’t happen, old debit card details being used causing issue etc. Now last Friday was payday for my wife, and we were happy that the whole £800 was going to be taken by PDEx. However, the attempt to take payment was made (presumably automated) at some ridiculous hour of the morning before the wages went in. An email was then sent to her inbox saying that they could not take the payment and they had therefore taken an interest charge of 25% (£160) instead and would roll the loan over for another month. When we woke up and saw the email, we was a little annoyed knowing there were funds in there, so my wife phoned up later in the afternoon in her lunch break to ask them to take the remaining £640 and therefore close the loan as we didn’t want it to roll over. ‘No problem’ explained the nice assistant as he processed the payment. My wife was then informed that the card payment was declined and was then told that the assistant would ‘get a card reader from the front of the shop that works’. The payment was then attempted again and this was successful, and an automated email response was sent showing her loan had been cleared. We also expressed our annoyance that the original payment was attempted so early in the morning. The assistant agreed and said ‘we wasn’t the first today’ and said he had brought it up with his manager before. After all, understandably funds should be present the day before a direct debit, but the very nature of a payday loan means there won’t be funds in the day before payday! We thought nothing more of it until Saturday afternoon, when the available balance of our account showed £640 less than we were expecting. Seemingly the payment had gone through twice. A later phone call to the bank confirmed two like amounts of £640 were awaiting authorisation. Unfortunately, PDEx close early on Saturday, so we had to make do with venting frustrations via an e-mail urging them to phone us instantly on Monday morning, and reiterating that all could have been avoided but for the attempt to take the money so early, and the use of the dodgy card reader. An email from them (a rarity) did follow on Monday – no apologies, just simply ‘send us a copy of a bank statement showing two identical transactions’. A fair enough request I guess. As the debit card transactions were not showing up yet online, we responded to them stating we would be in touch the following day. Three automated emails from them followed that day, one with an account update stating they hoped my wife had a pleasant weekend, another email was wishing my wife a happy birthday – both ironic. The third though was an email to state that they had tried on numerous occasions to contact my wife regarding the outstanding payment of £0.00 that they were owed and she should contact them immediately!! She did via email that evening, but I’m afraid we couldn’t help the sarcasm in the response. It’s a worry that these evidently computer generated mails contain such false claims of having tried to contact us repeatedly. I’m sure they are used with many customers. So yesterday (Tuesday), the bank statements had updated and did confirm that only one of the £640 payments had been made to PDEx, however the initial £640 was still in our account, but not as available funds. I telephoned the bank, the Co-op, and explained it all to them. He said he could release the funds back to us at the touch of a button, however there would need to be a fax sent through to the fraud department first so they could literally remove the authorisation and release the funds to us. We sent a fax over and emailed PDEx to ask them to urgently help us by sending a fax as well stating they had no interest in the money. We sent the email to four different departments at PDEx and no-one replied to us, or communicated with the bank. I can almost visualise them receiving the email and laughing at the power they are holding with our own money in our own bank! This morning still no money, getting a bit desperate seeing as we only have £20 to feed a family of four, and £640 we can’t touch. Another email sent this morning so we’ll see what happens, although it doesn’t appear any response as yet. Thankfully my wife is free at later at work and should be able to phone them too (its been hard for her to have time to phone as she is a teacher and has had a training course and a school trip this week and Pdex won’t discuss with me as the loan was with my wife). I gather if PDEx don’t co-operate, the bank will release funds to us anyway but not until 10-12 days have elapsed, but currently, and amazingly PDEx are holding all the aces for the money which is not theirs!! Where could we lodge an official complaint if need be? Is it the FOA? Everyone else please beware though of the above happenings! Needless to say when this is finally resolved, we’ll be closing our account with them immediately. I’ll hopefully be able to update with some more positive news soon, in the meantime any advice will be great.
