  1. Hi, I SAR'd Style financial which was due to expire today (9th Aug). I enclosed a cheque for £10 which was cashed 24/7/12. Today I received a letter from Arrow Global thanking me for my letter dated 13th June addressed to Style and that it had been forwarded to them as they are the asignees of my account. They acknowledge my request for a SAR but say I need to pay them £10 for the data and until payment is received my SAR has no effect. What!??? so will Arrow have all my statements anbd history for the entire life of the account? and why did Style cash my cheque? Now shall I ignore this letter and report Style to ICO for non-compliance and prove they cashed cheque or shall I contact Arrow, tell them to go take a run and jump for another £10 fee? not sure what to do but one thing I do know is that these banks certainly know how to wind people up! Any advice on way forward appreciated
  2. Hi, I received a letter from Fenton regarding a debt with Arrow Global. I sent a CCA request to Fenton who indicating they had forwarded my request to their client. I then receive a letter from Arrow saying they do not accept they are the creditor as envisaged by the CCA 1974 statue, but are willing to assist in obtaining what i have requested, and that they will process my request with the original creditor (MBNA) and will revert in due course. They returned my payment of £1.00 My credit record shows the debt with MBNA is satisfied as debt assigned, and an account with Arrow is in default. Does this mean the 12+2 days for the CCA request has been reset ? How do I stand in my request for the CCA as my fee has been returned ? Thanks in advance for your help. Nigel
  3. Hi I have been chased for a while by Rockwell for an old Halifax overdraft that they claim was never repaid when they closed my account. I knew that bank account had been closed in around 2001-02 and so I know this to be SB. The account was passed across the office to Fenton Cooper who keep sending threatograms and calling etc. I keep saying "in writing only" etc and putting the phone down. I'm quite happy for them to waste their time and postage costs but something I never spotted before just occured to me. Before I knew about this site and its fantastic advice, I spoke to Rockwell on the phone. I didn't admit the debt and nothing was in writing anyway but I did ask them to send whatever details they had to my little used hotmail address. I didn't bother reading the email as I know it to be SB. Today I looked in the hotmail account and read Rockwell's email, dated 25 April 2012. This is what it says: Dear maplins Re: Outstanding balance of £xxx.xx owed to Arrow Global Ltd (HBOS xxxxxxxxxxxxx) We can confirm that the above account relates to HBOS bank account that was opened on xx/xx/1996 account number: xxxxxxxxx our clients purchased the above account from HBOS on xx/xx/2003. They have since instructed us to deal with this account on their behalf. A payment of £xx.xx was made on the xx/xx/2004 to European collections. Our investigations lead us to believe that this matter relates to you and the balance above remains outstanding. Please complete and return the attached form including your repayment proposals. The above account is on hold for the next 30 days to allow time for your response. So Rockwell knew this debt was SB yet still attempted to collect and then gave Fenton Cooper the pleasure of wasting their time and money. Oh, and the payment in 2004 that they mention is a complete fabrication but even if it were true, the debt would still be SB. I'm bored with their tedious communications now so I'm going to send the SB letter. Is there anything else I can say about them attempting collection on a debt they knew was SB?
  4. Hi everyone, I've been receiving letters from the above companies for some time and have decided to do something about it, need a little advice though if possible. They are telling me that I owe £399 for an Orange mobile phone contract from Sept 2007. This was the result of a dispute with Orange over items on my bill that I refused to pay and (at the time) it went away and I thought nothing more of it......I am actually still an Orange customer at the moment!! I ignored the letters on the basis that I was under the impression the matter was done and dusted but now feel that I need to do something as they have raised their game somewhat in recent weeks. I am now getting letters sent to my, my mother's and my girlfriends address.......I am receiving calls on my mobile, my mothers landline and my girlfriends landline........I even had a call at my Boss's home address (which is the registered address as per companies house but not the office address) while I was there having dinner!!! All of the calls have asked me to confirm my details (which I obviously will not do) and the letters are getting a bit more threatening (which in truth doesnt really bother me.....more annoys than scares:-x). I sent them a CCA letter, inc postal order etc, to prove the debt.......they have come back to me stating that the CCA doesnt apply and I need to confirm my salary, expenses and bank statements etc immeadiately in order to set up a payment plan. I'm dismissing their requests immeadiately but I'm just wondering where to go from here, I've drafted another prove it letter not mentioning the CCA but I'm wondering if this may well end up i court. The debt was made up of 4-5 monthly payments that I refused to pay so I'm assuming that the SB date would be somewhere around April/May next year.......gives them quite a bit of time to take further steps!! Any advice much appreciated!
  5. Hi, New to this. I have problems with reading & writing: pse treat me gently. Got the standard ltr by all counts on this site. With the IA required note. E-mailed 10/7/12 : Dear Sir, With regards to your letter dated 4 July 2012 in the mater of Arrow Global Guernsey Ltd. Firstly, I have NO knowledge of doing business with this company. So in this matter the following is required before payment will even be considered. 1: The original signed agreement in regards of the sum outstanding. (it will be a copy if they have it.) 2: The original signed copy of an agreement between Arrow Global Guernsey Ltd and Ms Susan Grant of 117 Main Street. Frizington. CA26 3PE. (this should be the notice of assignment)( you are not entiled to the deed of assignment it is confidential) Yours. S. Grant Reply E-mail 11/7/12 : Dear Ms Grant, We write in reference to your most recent correspondence, of which your concerns have been noted. Please note that our client Arrow Global purchased this debt from Littlewoods, and Arrow Global now legally owns all rights to seek recovery of this debt and we are legitimately instructed to act on their behalf. Please contact our offices on the telephone number shown below to discuss your plans for repayment of the above account. In the mean time if you believe the matter to be a case of fraudulent activity then please provide proof of residency from January 1997 to present, so we can investigate the matter further. If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to contact us on the above details. Regards Correspondence Team Transcom So what is my next step? I believe this is the second time this has happened. The last was before 2007/8. I am hope I can find the ltr's. Also no proof forwarded to me. Of any dealing with 'Littlewoods'. There is one thing to be noted. Our address is not 117 Main Street. Does this make a difference {YES} Thank you for your help. Mole. Reply to: Reply to UK ENQUIRIES You need to make it clear that this is a Consumer Credit Agreement request made under CCA 1974 and enclose £1 postal order for the fee, and state the payment is to be used only for that fee and is not to be credited to any account as a payment. Add I do not acknowledge any debt to you or any company you claim to represent. If you have trouble with this letter come back to me and I will draft it in full for you.
  6. Please can someone help us with this problem? I applied to a lender to remortgage with my husband a month ago and was surprised when we were refused. We both checked our credit reports and I found a default had been placed on my credit history late last year by Arrow Global. However it appeared under a previous address I moved from over 2 years ago. I rang Arrow Global and they told me that the debt came from Shop Direct for an unpaid credit account. I have never had a credit account with Shop Direct or any of their companies. They asked me to write to them explaining the situation and proof of my new address from when I moved, which I sent. They told me it was up to me to prove I hadn't taken out this account, not for them to prove I did. I also haven't received any statements or letters from either Shop Direct or Arrow Global, as it appears that both have my old address. The default simply appeared out of nowhere. I have reported the matter to the police and obtained a crime reference number, which I also put in the letter. So far the police haven't been very helpful. I haven't been asked for a statement or anything. I got fed up after a couple of weeks of inaction, so I contacted Shop Direct myself and they confirmed that a credit account was applied for online in September last year using my name, address and birthdate and some high value electrical goods were ordered and picked up from an outlet not too far from my old address. I informed the police of this and I am waiting to hear from them. We suspect the current occupant of our old house is involved, as we have had unpleasant experiences with them since we moved. What can we do to get this resolved as quickly as possible? The mortgage lender said if we can get a letter from Arrow Global explaining that this default was applied in error then they are happy to proceed with the application however the unhelpful people I have spoken to at Arrow Global told me that they wouldn't ever write a letter like that This has caused us lots of distress and placed strain on my marriage with my husband, and our two children. We are also paying a higher rate of interest in the mean time on a loan my husband has as the remortgage is to clear that off and get our finances in order. With a small baby things are tight as it is. Any help much appreciated
  7. Just a quick thank you to everyone here. After reading the advice re dealing with DCA's we sent Arrow Global a CCA request letter as they were trying to collect on a debt for a credit card from MBNA. I have today received the letter saying they cannot obtain a copy of the CCA from the originating creditor. This site has helped so much and removed a lot of stress and worry. Thank you again. 8. Good evening, My wife has this morning received a letter from Bryan Carter Solicitors saying they have issued litigation proceedings in the County Court. She has also received a Claim Form from Northampton County Court Bulk Centre. A couple of years ago, she had a credit card with MBNA which she was unable to pay. She wrote to them explaining the situation and continued to pay £1 per month. All correspondence was ignored by MBNA. Eventually a default notice was issued and the debt was sold to Experto Credite. She wrote requesting the CCA but the £1 cheque was never cashed and in due course she wrote to them stating the account was in dispute. Since then, Arrow Global sent a couple of letters demanding payment which were ignored. A couple of weeks ago, Arrow Global wrote offering a discounted amount in F&F settlement which was also ignored. How should she proceed? The letter from Bryan Carter makes no reference to MBNA apart from the account number. The debt has been assigned to so many companies I have lost track and I was only able to match the account number up after digging through the original CCA letters sent at the time. Many thanks everyone.
  9. Hi All, my ex partner received a letter at the ex marital home (they still live there) in my name from Arrow Global Guernsey advising me that Cyclone Asset Management has assigned a debt effective 23rd December 2011 to Arrow. It goes on to state that payments made on this account after December 2010 will be passed to Arrow and will be deducted from the current balance. It then states that all future payments and correspondance shoud be directed to Wescot Credit Services, gives a phone number and ref no and states that I should contact Wescot as a matter of urgency to organise payment, it also states I should contact them if I believe this is in error, again as a matter of urgency. The original debt is stated as originally owed to Shop Direct Group with no amount or date mentioned but it does give an account number. Here's the issue: I have never used mail order or anything likely to have caused a debt with Shop Direct Group, I have no debts, I don't have a credit card, I have not lived at the marital address since 2008, I have nothing at the address. My ex partner is going crazy saying I must contact them and sort it but my instinct is just ignore as it sounds like a phishing trip/[problem]. Advice please peeps?
  10. Hi, I'm looking for some advice. My boyfriend recently told me he had a few issues with money a few years ago when he was out of work and spent a lot og money of credit cards and loans. As we are saving to buy a house we want to sort out his debt and try clear some of his defaults. He has one big one which is now with Arrow global for £3900Another one for £2000 with Halifax loansA couple of others small ones for Lowell PortfolioAll debts are from 2008 and have not been paid since that time. Please can you let me know the best way to deal with these? I have read a lot of information about full and final settlements and am considering this as we have a bit of money saved. We just want to get these sorted so we can start fresh. I've also read a couple of threads about trying for CCA before offering a full and final. what does this mean and how would I do this? As we have 2 years left before the faults drop off, if we pay a full and final figure, will this 6 years start from the day we pay some money again?Any help would be greatThanks
  11. A company called Frederickson international contacted me around 6 months ago to say i was liable to pay a fee of £217.00 for an organe phone I took out in 2007. The contract on the phone was only for 13 days. They havent provided me with a complete breakdown of where the debt is from. Orange sold the debt on to Arrow Global, and Arrow Global have applied a default notice against my credit file. i have no idea what the debt is for, and not really sure what to do. Can they remove the default notice, this is really affecting my life, i cant even apply for a mortgage because of it.
  12. Hi All I've recently received a Default Notice from Egg, it's attached. For information it is on 3 seperate sheets of paper and in the top right of the first page it says the letter is about my "Egg Card" - this is incorrect, it's about my Egg Money Card. Does this have any influence over the validity or not of the DN? Thanks in advance for your help. SP This is page 1 This is page 2 This is page 3
  13. These guys arrow global have got a CCJ issued against me with help from their mates at Shoosmiths for a 21k debt from paragon finance to whole amount have sent in the N245 to try and get it to a monthly amount and is being reheard locally any help, ideas or advice appreciated to either get the amount owing reduced as I'm sure they have bought the debt for pennies, to get a sensible monthly payment amount set up and either way make sure none of their collector guys come calling again. I don't have any savings and the CCJ stops any chance I had of a promotion at work. Trying to put a charging order on the house as well - what can I do??
  14. I posted this in General but I think it should be here - apologies for that Hello - I hope someone can help but I suspect my case is hopeless. Sometime ago I had a debt, this debt was sold to a third Party and then was again sold to Arrow Global - at the time I was suffering due to the death of a partner at a very early age. I ended up with a CCJ that I ignored and eventually an attachment of earnings that I now have deducted from my wage every month. Since reading this forum I have asked the solicitors representing arrow global for a copy of the letter of assignment and a copy of my original credit agreement. After my third letter they finally responded (this was sent on the 9th September and I only got the response today) The letter says ' I confirm that x purchased the portfolio of ys loans on 1st August 2006 and sold them to Arrow Global on 1st December 2006 as a portfolio of consumer loan receivables' xxxxxx office manager Arrow Global This does not look like a letter of assignment to me. They didn't get a copy of my credit agreement. Being as this ccj is live and I am paying off money every month is there anything I can do to fight this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  16. Hi, I have a default from Lloyds TSB for a Master Card, the date of the agreement is early 2003, the date of the default is Nov 2006. The debt was sold to Arrow Global in Sept 2009, they now have the default on my credit file, this has been causing no end of problems as I am a director of a company and any credit or contracts that the company apply for it brings up my default and the application fails. I have disputed the debt since May 2006, I sent all the standard letters off here (could'nt remember my old account details to log in) back in May, June July 2006, Got all the way up to sending a N1 then droppped it due to work commitments. I have been in contact with Lloyds, Arrow and their solicitors (I use this term lightly) Fairfax. Seem to be going round in circles, any advice would be great. Thanks in advance
