  1. Lowell have now passed it over to Overdales Solicitors and had a Notice of Acting letter arrive to today, is this safe to ignore?
  2. Thank you Stu, After speaking to some more residents here, there are only 9 in the cul de sac a couple of them have had trouble with loose tiles on their properties as well as loads of other problems to the houses and surroundings. I am trying to get them to all complain at once and get the housing manager out to go through the problems. One resident hasn't had any lighting upstairs for over a year because of a leaking roof
  3. Hi, as the title suggest I rent a house from Town & Country Housing and being off grid we do not have a gas supply so the only heating is via expensive storage heaters. At the moment there are loads of government grants for Private landlords and home owners to get funding for better heating or LPG but none for HA unless you are on benefits, this seems so unfair, does anyone know of any other grants that would help?
  4. Thanks Stu 007. When all they details are sent through I will have a good read through. No the shed is one of those plastic storage ones about the size of a big wardrobe that you can move anywhere.
  5. Did you take an insurance or warranties out as this will change the figure. The 50% figure would be for the car minus any part ex or deposit paid. If you payments each month would be £200 as example with insurances you might only be paying £160 off the car and £40 off the add on's. Have they sent you a breakdown of the figures?
  6. I have VT'd a car a couple of time before. The figure your are liable is 50% of the car. The payments towards this includes any deposit - part exchange you laid down at the time of purchase. But the 50% would not cover and warranty, gap insurance etc that was taken out. They must of given you a breakdown of all the cost etc. DX is brilliant with advice on them
  7. Thanks BF, Yes it's the Housing Association responsibility. At the moment I am already raising a complaint about a repair that hasn't been done so another one won't bother me
  8. Hi, I rent a property from Town & Country Housing and yesterday a roof tile fell from our roof and damage our plastic shed. T&C Supply us with a house insurance policy but after speaking to them they don't cover sheds and out buildings. The roof is beyond being able to be repaired due to the damage from the tile so I am a bit miffed that I have now got to replace the shed myself. Is there anything I can do? Thanks JJ
  9. Well I would rather pay the £10 and get the item back so you can get the refund and fight the seller for the £10 later than have the case close and get stuck with a faulty item, and then have to fight other methods of getting my money back.
  10. Have you put all this in the eBay messaging part of the open case? It does seem that the seller it trying to get the case to time out for the sake of say £10 I would pack the ladder up and send it back via a courier, you would then upload the tracking details and it you will get the refund that you want when it arrives.
  11. Sorry the seller is wrong. I have a shop on eBay, the seller would only be charged for the label if it is scanned by the post office and used. He would be charged from eBay £3.05 for the label that he can claim back. The seller has an option to upload his own label that they should of done to cover the right weight. Ebay's customer service agents are a bit hit and miss depending on what time of day you call and what country you call get sent through to. I have found if you speak to an agent in Ireland they are very good and seem to get things sorted. As I said earlier if the seller is being stubborn I would sent the item back via a courier at my expenses then claim it back off them, because if the case goes over a certain time and the items hasn't been sent back eBay will close the case in the sellers favour.
  12. The seller is wrong, the will not be charged for the label until the label is used. In the return message option. I would put that you have been supplied a 2kg label when the item weighs 7kg and Royal Mail have refused it and you require a label for the right weight or the money to be sent to you to arrange your own courier. "Tip If the seller is responsible for return postage, it's important that they cover the costs. If they don't provide a paid method of return postage, or if they don't offer to reimburse you for return postage, let us know by asking eBay to step in." (On their web site). If you speak to eBay's customer service I would point out that the seller must cover the cost as it's not as described. With the SD card if you have proof you sent the card back I would speak to your card provider and see about a doing a chargeback.
  13. Is the ladder faulty? If so the seller should cover the return postage. You can use Interparcel or Parcelmonkey and get a courier to send it back then try and get the seller to reimburse you. The SD Card you could claim off Royal Mail as you have the paperwork as they have lost it and not Amazon
  14. Packlink not only want a photo of the damaged packing (that the buyer has disposed of) but also now want a photo of the package when I sent it !!!! They say 'it's in our terms and conditions' surely this is a unfair contract. I send over 100 parcels a month and there is now way I photographing each package it's not practical, going to bombard eBay and Packlink Twitter and Facebook pages as I feel very let down by them
  15. I have VT'd a couple of cars in the past and do as DX says and make sure you have loads of photos etc, keep the collection sheet showing all damage etc, they will try and claim for every mark but fair wear and tear is acceptable. The 50% mark also includes your part ex or deposit so make sure this is taken into account as well. My last VT was a jeep and with what I paid and the auction cost they didn't cover what it had sold for so did try and get me to pay the rest but after threatening the FOS they soon backed down
  16. Hi, helping a friend that has been paying Stepchange for around 8 years now and has another approx 4 years to go. All the debts are no longer on their credit file, and they are: Hoist Barclays Partner Finance £4,000 Lowell Finance £400 NCO Arrow £350 There were a couple more but they didn't have a CCA so closed the account. They want to start their own one and try and clear via a F&F settlement Before they close the stepchange account Is the Hoist one still with the OC? And if so how do we go about this regarding the CCA etc
  17. Sadly I think you are right. If she moved to another house in a virgin area they wouldn't make her pay up the rest of the contract just asked her to do another contract seems very unfair.
  18. Thank you Andy, by reading that it seems a fight to get out of the contract.
  19. Thank you for the advice. She is just waiting to get the green light on the move and rang and spoke to them to get some details.
  20. Hi, My daughter is a customer with Virgin and going to be moving house in the next couple of weeks due to a marriage break up. Her new address is not covered by Virgin media, she is around 6 months into her contract and they are looking for a fee of around £240 this seems excessive and is there anything she can do about is as it seems she is paying for a service that she can't use.
  21. Afternoon, I sell items on eBay and have sent a laptop part this was sent via Hermes and paid for from PackLink, item was £25. The part has arrived damaged. The customer has the part and sent photos but thrown away the packaging, Packlink have now dismissed my claim because the packaging has been thrown away. Through reading other threads I have to go after Hermes first but will the lack of packaging cause a problem?
  22. Thanks DX, Annoyingly they keep changing the phone number they call from and even Mobile numbers so as soon as you block one they ring on another
