  1. Challenge what they are telling you. The banks want to hang on to your money including the PPI added to loans. The banks will make statements to put you off track. IMO you should press them all the way for a claim on your PPI and if they fail to refund you should press on to the Financial Ombudsman Service with a complaint. I have made multiple complaints and my recovery on PPI and bank charges is now over £19.5k so keep at them aa
  2. IMO stay away from them. They will no doubt take a percentage of any reclaim money you are entitled to. Better to put your case together and use the Financial Ombudsman Service (No fee, No Court costs and no bills. You end up with an adjudication which in the PPI world gives you a 90% chance of a success and the complaint to the FOS will cost the company you complain against a £500 fee payable to the FOS. It is better, cheaper and more successful with no cost to submit your claims for mis-sold PPI to the Financial Ombudsman Service. aa
  3. You will have to read up on the terms and conditions applicable at the time the loan was taken out. PPI has been mis-sold in a huge amount so IMO check out all the relevant terms and if you consoder you have a valid claim, you should IMO make a claim and get your money back aa
  4. Do you know how much the PPI was that was attached to your loan. I assume it was a loan as you have not posted detailed information. IMO it seems a little bit short of a repayment on a £5K loan with PPI added. It may be time to ask for a breakdown on the loan on loan figures and PPI figures before you start your claim. aa

  6. IMO you should pursue the claim for PPi against the original creditor namely Debenhams and GE Money. (They will no doubt pass you on to the creditors just to delay you with your claim., This is becoming standard practice. "make sure the claimant has as difficult a time as is possible in making a claim by passing it on to debt collectors etc etc. IMO you should make the claim for mis-sold PPI against the original creditor and stick with it. aa PPI letters here... 9. A single £10 fee by postal order is all that is required to obtain all the data held on you by Abbey. You will needto scrutinise all the paperwork you receive to check for the PPI details. You will need to double check as you state you ticked the box you should have been made aware of all the relevant issues on the policy by virtue of a demands and needs questionnaire, This should have been carried out by abbey staff to ensure the PPI on the CC was in fact suitable to you in line with your position. Please see this linik.. PPI - Some Notes for Claimants.. You should always receive a copy of the consumer credit agreement with a copy of the terms and conditions that are applicable to that agreement. 14. Hello Landy, I like the train of thought but the problem is getting the FOS, FSA etc to think in the same way. My only suggestion is to complain to all of the regulatory bodies about your particular case. FOS, FSA, ICO, Trading Standards, OFT and anyone else you can think of. A single standard letter putting across all the salient points copied to them all with a copy to LTSB is the only advice I am able to offer on this one. 18. If the Ombudsman does not rule in your favour you still have the option to go to Court. If the Car company do not follow the Ombudsmans decision you should then complain to the Financial Services Authority and inform them of the situation stating the Ombudsman has upheld your complaint but the Company refuse to abide by his decision. aa
