Open another account somewhere else. NatWest or Co-op should give you an account without too many problems. Jeff.

If you do receive anything from them, scan it and post it in this thread. (Minus your personal details of course). You will then get more feedback and hopefully some more assistance with your next step. Jeff. -

Hi Matheram, All I can say in my case with Barclaycard is; I CCA'd them. They sent what we all know as an application form, without any prescribed terms. I challenged this. They, actually their mates at Mercers sent a default notice. This was invalid for various reasons. Eventually they started proceedings against me. After giving me the runaround regarding the serving of documents etc. they agreed to withdraw the claim with certain provisions. This is similar to many other cases with Barclaycard. Jeff.

Jeff2000 replied to Jeff2000's topic in Debt Collection Agencies
Hi all, I have now been informed that my alleged BOS account has been sold to Hillesden Securities Ltd, trading as direct legal & collections (dlc). The letter from Hillesdens is signed by Helen Glover, Team Leader Citi Cards!! In the same envelope is a letter alleged to be from HBOS but dated the same day. Anybody have any comments on Hillesden or direct & legal? Regards, Jeff. -

Hi, I have now received what Link are describing as a statement of account. It shows the assignment date. The balance in Oct '08. The balance as of about a week ago. It is also numbered as statement number 001. That's basically it. Jeff.

Hi, Mine was a GM card. (Owned by HFC). This was eventually sold to Link Financial. The rest is, as they say, history. My thread is here; http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-debt-issues/58913-mbna-link-financial.html Regards, Jeff.

I fully agree. It NEEDS to be in the debt forum!

Mine is an application form with no prescribed terms. Plus the majority of the amount claimed are charges etc.

Hi, I have now received a letter from the infamous Mr Higgins at Link. Apparently I have one final chance of contacting them regarding my "account" else all hell will break loose! Usual threats of adding interest, CCJ's and charging orders etc. Oh yes, they've searched the land registry....blah, blah, blah.... TTFN Jeff.

Brilliant result! Well done! -
Hi all, Well, since the last letter from Marlin about a year ago, I hadn't heard a thing. Until now. I have recently received a "special one-off bonus settlement 30% reduction on your balance" letter. It gives 21 days from the date of the letter to take up the "offer" and make payment and it is "without prejudice". Anybody else received a letter like this from Marlin? Jeff.

I agree, once Wescot are stumped they usually close THEIR account and return to sender! Jeff. -
Hi, Ignoring the DCA's is now my action plan too. I will pay them if and when a judge tells me too!

I put any expenses for pets in a seperate column. Living expenses for a couple are exactly that, anything else is other expenses! Jeff. -
Old Peculiar and Hobgoblin are crackin' beers! Quite like the odd Black Sheep's Riggwelter myself. Jeff.
