The DPA letter is in the post today to halifax....
Its not actually for me but for my other half. When we met he was 3,500 overdrawn and in such a state I felt for him so much, The halifax had actually extended his overdraft to 3,500 from 2,500 just so that they could re-coup the 900 charges that they had just hit him with. They were paying some DDs and charging him, they were returning some and charging him, and then banging loads of interest on top just for a laugh!
I was so appalled at how they were treating him I went into the local branch with him and tried to get the customer services manager to repay some of the charges. (even asked if they could just wait a few weeks before taking them) Every charge they were giving him was just making his situation worse, and it was just like a giant snowball. The bloke in the halifax was just so cold and couldnt care less about my friends situation. ( His Marriage had just broke up, wife had started her own business and it had all gone a bit tits up, so he got all the debt to deal with) so really it wasnt even his fault.
I did ask the usual charges, how do you justify etc... but got nowhere. That was November last year, and I finished up giving him money just to stay in the red that they had caused - it was an awful time, but as per the title, I am totally charged up and inspired by everything I have read on this site and will update anyone who is interested.
Good luck to everyone else!
