  1. Cheers amanda, banks giving info in a straight forward format ... wow!
  2. Hi everyone My OH had a current account with HSBC and took out a £4.5k loan. He filled in all the standardpaperwork etc. He was then in a position to pay backthe whole loan about 3 months later and understood that there would be interest charges up to the point of repayment plus an early repayment penalty. What he didn't expect is that he would end up paying a total of over £1k solely for the loan. I'm about to go through his paperwork to see how on earth HSBC calculated charges/fees of nearly 25% for this 3-month loan. Initially, could anyone tell me whether he should start of any claim following the same step that apply for reclaiming usual bank account charges or is there a different format for disputing charges pertaining to a bank loan? Many thanks in anticipation
  3. Just read this whole thread and wanted to say welldone mumofthreeboys (are you on MSE forums too, nickname rings a loud bell?) Am now feeling more confident about my newly started claim.
  4. Woolwich supply the charge list free ie they don't charge the £10 fee. This is why they have returned it to you.
  5. Regards the list of all charges that we can all expect - will the list itemise whether the charge is returned DD, returned cheques etc? Surely we need the charges broken down in order to complete the itemised Schedule of Charges?
  6. I sent my request to a particular person, it was my way of making someone accountable for any delay in sending the statements. I used: Peter Townsend Barclays Data Protection Barclays Bank Plc Radbroke Hall Knutshall Cheshire WA16 9EU
  7. Hi everyone, I have just joined all you good people in the fight to reclaim against Woolwich, and shall update the following timeline at each stage First Letter requesting Statements 27/02/2007 Woolwich acknowledgement letter rec'd 05/03/2007 I've found writing to the branch on other matters pointless so I sent my first letter to: Peter Townsend Barclays Data Protection Barclays Bank Plc Radbroke Hall Knutshall Cheshire WA16 9EU
  8. I shall be following this thread eagerly. I sent my first letter (requesting statements) on 27th Feb to Peter Townsend Barclays Data Protection Barclays Bank Plc Radbroke Hall Knutshall Cheshire WA16 9EU and received a letter back from a Woolwich Sales & Service Manager dated 2nd March, standard Customer Care Leaflet enclosed. From reading the forum posts, I'm optomistic Woolwich/Barclays will send all my statements within the 40 day grace period. Good luck electric lemon from a fellow mum!
  9. Hi Advoc, Could you just confirm (I need everything spellt out for me I'm afraid), that it is perfectly reasonable to reclaim bank charges even for an account that no longer exists ie was already closed before starting the claim?
  10. Ive just had my first bog standard reply to my intial letter of reclaim from Woolwich. I've also recently received a customer letter advising that Woolwich Bank Accounts are now being converted to Barclay Accounts. Will this is anyway affect the validity of my claim process? ie could the bank use it as a technicality to have any future court claim rejected?
