  1. That response from them is almost taunting in its tone, we been told we have to reconsider but we will put in measures to make sure we dont need to it seems scandelous, you should send a copy to the FSA and ask thier position on this im sure thier guidance dosent allow for this, jdene
  2. That what I was afraid of but never mind been waiting a long time already a few more months wont hurt, and I recieved a reply from GE Money only the standard we are looking into your complaint and will respond within 8 weeks etc. etc.
  3. Hello all again, how long do the FOS normally take to come back with a decision as to whether you have a case or not in thier opinion, had an e mail to confirm they have recieved everything a few weeks ago but nothing since. Thank you in anticipation of your reply. Regards jdene
  4. Well letter gone off, I still think they are trying to get me to accept this money as some sort of settlement for the PPI I am claiming on the same mortgage but with the money group. jdene
  5. Have just put the following letter together for GE Money see if they respond sensibly, could anyone please give me an idea if this is ok. Account Review Team GE Money Home Lending Building 4 Hatters Lane Watford WD18 8YF Date: 16 March 20013 Acc Number: Re: Offer letter Dear Sir / Madam Further tomy earlier letter of the 04/03/2013, and our telephone conversation on Thursday14/03/2013 I wish to notify you that the refund you have offered for an overpayment of interest on my closed account, has not included the statutory 8%interest which would be expected on payments of this kind, making the figureowed to me at least £303.74. I havefurther to inform you that, by making the error on the interest you have alsocaused me to have to borrow the £168.85 amount extra to clear the mortgage, which has itself incurred interest at 8.5% over the full term of theremortgage, which gives a further figure of £331 to be added Giving a total of£634.74 With theabove issues in mind and with your clear acceptance that the error is with yourselvesI believe the higher figure should be a minimum offer to fully and fairlycompensate me for the extra costs I have had to incur. I lookforward to your agreement on this matter and the quick and mutually agreedresolution to the matter. I haveincluded my bank account details to enable you to make an instant transfer tomy account. Regards jdene
  6. Again sorry DX never crossed my mind, but thank you for all your help, would be lost without this forum. jdene
  7. DX sorry to be a pain but just reading another thred and came across this comment : As the lender was the same company who did the remortgage you should bear in mind that the amount you had to borrow on the second loan would have been higher than would hav ebeen the case had the PPI not been applied to the first one. As a result you were effectively paying for loan 1 PPI through loan 2. Would this be relevant to my PPI claim as when we remortgaged, we had to borrow enough to clear the first mortgage including the PPI, which naturally increased the interest on the overall mortgage and the monthly payments. jdene
  8. Thank you DX I will try to work out how much it comes to and get letter off to them today. jdene
  9. Ok found out the details of the offer from GE Money it relates to the mortgage that the PPI was attached to, they say that the £168.85 relates to an over payment of interest at the time, because i had arranged to make my payments earlier in the month. The mortgage was paid off in full back in 2005, so they have held onto this untill now when I have raised the PPI issue, this seems like to much of a coincidence to me, will they owe me interest on this payment back to when the account was closed do you think, because they are very eager to pay me up out of the way. regards jdene
  10. Will the FOS actually look at the life insurance as well or will I have to go and issue a seperate claim for that jdene
  11. had forms back from FOS have to fill in seperate form for each policy but they dont seem interested in the life insurance thats was forced onto us only the PPI surly insurance is insurance whatever title they put it under. jdene
  12. will do both dx report her and then send her letter asking when they sent out letters informing thier customers bet they havent sent out one jdene
  13. So let me get this right, all these firms are obliged to send their customers a letter if they were sold PPI, to ask them if they would like to have that sale investigated or if they had a complaint about the way it was sold, and if the firms dont send out the letters they are in breach of the FSA guidelines and there can be no limitation placed on the time allowed to make a claim, because the customer could be unaware that they are eligible to make a claim, and as such unable to comply with any time restraint, which could be interpreted as the company deliberately witholding this information in an attempt to limit the number of complaints it recieves. Is that right or am I not getting it. Regards jdene
  14. Letter sent just wait and see what GE are up to, they are all so slippery in the finance industrys its a disgrace. jdene
  15. I have quite a bit of my original, paperwork but will take your advice I will send a nice p[olite letter first just to try and get them to admit something like ho its just a bit of PPI we owe you, I have written the following for them, what do you think, Im still in shock GE have offered money. Account Review Team GE Money Home Lending Building 4 Hatters Lane Watford WD18 8YF Date: 04 March 20013 Re: Offer letter Dear Sir / Madam Today I received a letter from you regarding a refund of, anoverpayment on a previously held mortgage with yourselves. I have enclosed a copy of the letter, but I am unable to sign as itstipulates, both parties must sign in order for the offer to be valid, and mywife who was the co-signatory has regrettably passed away, again I haveenclosed a copy of Her death certificate for your information. I would also be most grateful if you could give me details of what theoverpayment was, and the full details of how the offer has been calculated. I have obviously now changed address and my new address is as above. I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future with fulldetails and a revised offer letter where only my signature will be required ifthat is possible. Regards
  16. this is the letter recieved today anyone else had an offer like this without contacting them jdene
  17. Well ive had a very strange letter today from GE money actually offering me a refund of £168 from an old mortgage but think it is a different one to the one i had through the Money Group, so think they may be trying to sneak around a claim for something any ideas im posting the letter as soon as I format it jdene
  18. So becasue the insurances were added to the loan and therfore formed part of the secured sums the statute of limitations runs for 12 years and I have raised my complaint within that time period, is that correct. jdene
  19. Recievd another reply from Money Group they are realy sure of themselfs will just have to wait and see what the ombudsman thinks
  20. Had reply from FOS they will look into my claim and get back to me, the FSA replyed to my complaint about how money group where handling claims and they advised me to contact the FOS what are they there for. jdene
  21. Well still no reply wonder if they are actually taking this seriously or not. jdene
  22. as long as the FSA keep the pressure on them all to do the right thing by people, weve waited long enough for someone on our side from the government side of things jdene
  23. Heard on the news today lloyds have been fined by the FSA for delaying settlements and delaying payouts to complainants on PPI this must be good news for everyone if it gets them all to react a bit more quickly jdene
