Whilst applying for a Nat West mortgage 2 years ago I was told by the chap on the phone that if I converted my current account to an Advantage Gold account I would be elligable for a further discount on my mortgage, so I converted at a cost of £9 a month.
I soon discovered that the discount was next to nothing so I decided to cancel the advantage gold account, in the meantime they took out £9 which put me £2 overdrawn. This account is never used by me so they are the only ones to take money out of it.
The £2 overdraft has now grown into nearly £150 because they keep adding charges for unauthorised borrowing, but it's they who've taken the money out not me!
I've pointed this out to them and told them I will not be paying the charges, as far as I'm concerned the account is closed.
Question is how do I go about actually closing the account?
