  1. Hi Robert, copying the letter template would be really helpful for me!! my head is spinning with other things at the moment so any help is very nice.... thanks
  2. Hi Jules, the vale is just along from where the zoo used to be between the five bells pub and the barge pub, on the same side of the road as the school and the old zoo...got apartments at the top of the road which look quite spanish with large balconies, they back onto the golf course. BBQ was lovely thanks, not so good for the old waist line though.... Not sure if i will apply for stay to be lifted as i will be away as from 19th so may do it when i come back. Rose
  3. Hi Jules, We live over the other side of the golf course, just off the Vale. I haven't read the charter yet, sat in the garden and had a bbq, but my view would also be that the bank should not make a profit out people and making the fee too large just helps to keep people in debt. Must admit though I am learning more each day, and to think I only started this myself cos other half heard Martin on the radio, and he doesn't have a clue on how to even turn the computer on....I make him listen patiently while I rattle off what everyone has been saying. Glad that there are people like you out there who read more and have a good handle on what is going on. Rose
  4. Hi Jules, hi all, Yes live in Basildon not far from the five bells roundabout... so frustrated now if i wasnt going away soon i was thinking of doing a suffragette thing and chaining myself to the railings! (not sure which ones!!!) Not had anything back from Angela Smith yet, only the email to say she/her office has received it. My letter this morning from Abbey says that they have asked/applied for the stay, so its all a bit fishy to me that we receive a letter from the court and then one from Abbey two days apart, and all that time inbetween when we only had an idea what was going on because people had phoned... the timings don't add up to me, I am not happy that we did not get anything from the court to say what the judgement was on the 17th its almost as if the whole day didnt happen.. Anyway enough of my frustrations...its a nice day i am off for the afternoon so going to sit in my garden and drink red wine!! and try not to be too obsessive and keep sneaking into the forum... Rose
  5. I have written to: Angela Smith MP Basildon & Thurrock
  6. sorry all forgot to add, i work with a magistrate and he says that he cant understand why a judge would make a decision, i.e. pay up in 28 days or final hearing, and then go and apply a stay themselves, usually a stay is only granted when either the claimant or the defendant asks for it... the judge had nothing else to do unless Abbey didnt pay up and then he could have stayed a final hearing...does this make sense? (i know what i mean)
  7. Hi all, Got my letter this morning as well.... really fed up cos they only made the decision on 31st July ...well after Judge Dudley had already made a judgement on the 17th... and if some of our claims hadn't been transferred and then stayed in the first place it might have all been over and done with by now.....%$£"":(
  8. Hi All, I was in Southend on the 17th and my understanding was that Judge Dudley made a decision that Abbey had 28 days to settle or the case would appear back as a final hearing. Also I was under the impression that once a judge made a decision he/she was supposed to stick to that...and unless Abbey have been told something different I would hope they still think they have 28 days... On a brighter note, a friend of mine who was at LBA stage received a partial refund of 1,000+ today from Abbey, so it looks like they are still going through the motions.
  9. I for one would not have found the confidence to get as far as court if it hadn't have been for this site. I suggest that anyone who thinks they have been let down is missing the point that we are all working to try and get the same outcome, the quickest way possible. I dont always post on the forum but I do read threads most days and feel that the information given is always useful......I will carry on with my claim and with everyones help deal with each stage as it comes. Rose:)
  10. Well done Paddy..... very happy for you...gives everyone else hope....
  11. oh deep shock and surprise:rolleyes: just been on Abbey and my cheque has cleared...pity its too late to spend the £$£%£$ thing... rose
  12. you and me both, we have had a cheque from this guy for the last 12 years my husband works for him and never had a problem before, just seems so funny that it happens day after court and they gave me three different reasons... still can move on to another bank soon....
  13. TJ, nice feeling isnt it...the sleep of the virtuous....
