  1. Both of mine have been blocked by O2. I dug out the IMEI of one but the other I had no clue. The person at O2 managed to dig it out for me based on the phone model and a time frame that I gave. So even if you don't know your IMEI, the phone company does. Try ringing them anyway to see if you can brick what is technically still your own phone.
  2. From mail@capital-books.co.uk Had this PDF attached: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1404231/Yemonia%20Limited%20Letter%20to%20Creditors%20Post%20Sec%2098%20Meeting.pdf
  3. Send an email to imengal@capital-books.co.uk asking for a form. As they've evidently completely full of male cow droppings, I wouldn't even bother any more. Their assets are apparently £1200 worth of phones... 750 phones? Who managed to come up with that valuation? If two of those are my two then they are worth at least £180 on various other sites still so I don't get how they can say 750 of them are worth 1200 quid. Which phones do they have? A bunch of Nokia 5110 all worth less than £2 each? I doubt it. They're iPhones, my Note, other smart phones etc. Even my 4 year old phone is still worth at the very least £30 unless I bother selling on eBay where it'll get more than double that. Wish I had pawned them off on eBay now... Director can't speak English but can comment in English on facebook... Global market prices dropped, my arse. If they can't sell the thing on, send it back to the customer. It's not like they bought it from customers - they had free stock coming in, then "couldn't" sell them. Give them back then? I don't know, just seems somewhat obvious to me. There's this question of how they have a huge loan to repay to another company, run by friends/ex directors or whatever it was. Money laundering, fraud; liars. I've given up hoping for anything financial relating to my own phones and even given up expecting the UK law to do anything about it at all. If anything, it shows us just how easy it is to be a con artist and how little the Police, Insolvency, Action Fraud or anyone can and will do about it. The only change for me is knowing now, as I already thought I did know, that you MUST Google EVERY site you have any financial dealings with, even and especially when things do seem like they're legit. To make things better my new phone was dropped by my kid yesterday so the screen's died. Don't have my old phones to just throw the SIM card in either, so I'm completely phoneless for the sec. Wonderful. kk, rant over
  4. I updated my Action Fraud case about the meeting but nice as the guy was, it appears he didn't seem to know what was going on or why it mattered that we knew where this dodgy geezer is meant to be showing up. Information entered, case updated.. no idea if anything will come of it.
  5. Thanks BankFodder Went to London a couple of months ago and remembered the £200 - 2 adults went so lol, yep, £100ish each. I only remembered how much came out the bank for it. Not to mention this time I'd have to take my kids along and be fined by the school for them not being there etc, add in a night staying up there - not happening. Thanks for checking though. Thanks for the mention to email admin, I missed it in the other panic I've been having today. Got the form last night, been filling in now.
  6. Hi all, err so who do I want to proxy vote for me then? I certainly can't come from Cornwall on a ~£200 return train to come and hopefully get towards some of the £225 I expected for my phones. Is "Apriumben" the voice for all of us that can't be there? Is there a real name to put into the form? Cheers, T
  7. The site's IP is Russian. We're not going to get any UK authorities to care enough to do anything about the site itself. Given that it's down... good, whether they're changing it or someone up to tricks - at least new users aren't falling for it right now.
  8. Scraped a few emails.. sent off 13, 10 bounced. These three should have arrived normally: admin@cash4phones.co.uk customerservices@cash4phones.co.uk deepesh@cash4phones.co.uk
  9. OK, so with BankFodder's updated info from Companies House (the site I was on didn't say about the latest director change), I found two more cents down the back of the sofa. Nearchos Chacholiades is allegedly the current company director of c4p trading ltd. To Google! First result - some guy in Cyprus on facebook OK. 2nd result - DueDil a Nearchos Chacholiades who is ex-secretary of LPS Protect Ltd. OK 3rd result - DueDil. Director of C4p trading Ltd. Possible Match - Director of LPS Protect Ltd as Nearchos Chachuliades. (Maybe you can register for free but I just disabled Java and JavaScript in Firefox - not sure which it needed - and the pages loaded up fine) Perhaps it's a naming convention I don't know of in Cyprus but it seems strange to have Chachuliades as director of the company and Chacholiades as ex-secretary. Coincidence? OK, so this LPS Protect. Companies in the UK shows us this with info about a director and secretary with these two very similar names and ages. Clicking on each of the names 1 / 2 brings up that they both live at the same address in Limassol, Cyprus. 8 Andreas Zappa Str, Flat 303 Galaxia Mansions Limassol Put. Yermasuyias 4040 Cyprus Limassol, Cyprus is where our friend from earlier on Facebook appears to live. He appears to be about 46ish. Is this cover photo the crew that runs Cash4Phones? Cheers n bye, I'd best grab some good old tea! Edit: Forgot, I rang the CAB yesterday to explain as much info as I had then; they said they would pass the info on to Trading Standards and that I should in my own case get a letter off to them saying they're in breach of contract and that I expect either phones or full payment within x days else legal action. Not sure how much will come of that or if a call to the Police would/will help either me or in the grand scheme of things with these rip-off merchants.
  10. Hey all I managed to be duped into sending my 2 phones off to these guys. Have heard nothing at all. They were on Watchdog at the end of October and mentioned in a Radio 4 show end of Nov. That address btw - 5 Spring St, is a newsagent. I phoned them yesterday and he seemed a bit vague but allegedly keeps getting recorded mail, court orders etc and he "just gives them to the courier" then said "just returns to sender". The Radio 4 programme said their mailing account (at the newsagent) hadn't yet been activated. Their "corporate" phone number lead me to some call answering service's main number where I spoke to a lady that seemed very bored of people asking about cash4phones. Nice too how the company directors change every 10 minutes.... Oh yes, and the site's hosted in Russia. Great. http://ip-lookup.net/?158.255.7.179 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mg74/features/cash-4-phones Watchdog http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/programmes/money_box/transcripts/money_box_30_nov_13.pdf Radio 4 Just my two cents
  11. Well, news just in: Cahoot accepted around 20% off - £6250 for £7500 outstanding, and Barclays have simply replied asking for details of my other creditors - but a definite result from Cahoot! Worth doing, definitely, saved me £1250
  12. Cheers Hobbie, that's basically what I've put into the letter I've put together since posting. Off to the post office......
  13. Hi, I've two loans and two current account with Barclays and Cahoot, one of each with each. I'm getting help from Dad (wooo, thanks! luv ya!) to clear them, but as he's shelling out £10k to get me out the doodoo, he wants me to try and knock them down, making a partial settlement offer. Current accounts are just about on their overdraft limits, loans are both way in arrears - Cahoot sent me a default notice 2 weeks ago today and Barclays sent me one in March but I've made an arrangement with em for now. Barclays told me that a default notice, ie pay us within 14 days or ring us or we'll request the full balance or take you to court, is not actually a default and stays internal, not going onto my credit record as a 6 year default thing - yet the guy from Cahoot told me yesterday that it does. Which is it? I haven't defaulted yet, I'm offering to settle the whole thing. Barclays say that while they sent me a letter offering up to 30% off if I settled, I can only offer 2-8% off the amount now that I've made an agreement. Cahoot say well, you can write a partial offer to us but we don't have to accept it - and the 14 days on the default notice is up today; at least I rang them last night and they're expecting a letter now. So, any way to go about this? I want to make sure my accounts are all closed, everything is in full and final settlement, and that I don't have a default notice on my account - I'm 4 months away from getting the last one finished. Oh, and I want to pay them less than they want lol. Barclays I can't argue about bank charges with, already reclaimed £3k from them thanks to this site. With Cahoot they've charged me a few here and there, so could I use that as part of my negotiation? What is a reasonable amount to offer them eg cahoot comes to £7500....is offering about 80% ie £6000 going to make them laugh and throw it in the bin? Should I make a 10% or 15% offer to barclays even though she said 2-8%? Is a default notice all that bad? I got all this credit after not paying my phone bill 5 1/2 years ago but I'm just worried about mortgages in the near future... What if I didnt pay anything, I have no major assets at all other than a car in bits and an ancient computer lol, so it's not like they would get anything much out of me even if I ignored them. Many thanks for any help, soz for the phat long post and plenty of questions :)
  14. Hey guys, thanks for your help. I realise that if theyre offering something, it's because they're in a corner, and are not in the business of handing money out. Ok, so if I signed the form they sent me, saying that I accept their offer of 240, thus closing this complaint, can I then be cheeky and send a letter saying thanks for the partial payment, now give me the rest?? Sounds like you're all saying to go for it. It hasnt gone to court at all yet. Would of course be better to be able to pay off my full balance and have something left over. BTW I asked for the money to be sent as a cheque or bank deposit, but they said tough, as I had outstanding balance...gits! And Andrew1, I know all these people are doing it, and its working, hence my attempts to get money back, but I just meant that until I see a cheque for £2000 from Barclays, I'm still a bit sceptical about it...mainly because I know I'm crap with my account and thats why theyve charged me Cheers neway, I'll whip up a letter asking for the rest - just tell me i can if i didnt call it accepting part payment when i accepted the offer. Cheers,T
  15. Hey phantom, Yeah, i kinda whimped outta that one really..still dont have enough faith in this whole idea......but now that I've accepted it as full and final, just signed their form that came with the offer: i cant go back now and call it part payment can i?
  16. Yeah, I thought it would have probably worked if I had fought it. Chuffed to still get 240 back though! I'll try it on Barclaycard but too late now for the Barclays claim. At least that has the 8% on it.
  17. I wrote to capital one asking for £626 back. they offered £240, saying they dropped each of my 30 something charges to £12.....240 is 20x12 but still. I replied to say thanks, but as you make a useless offer, ill have to add the contractual interest rate, 27.9%, which made it up to about £1000. they replied again and offered 240, which i just accepted. cant be bothered to go all the way with em, 240 is still cool. Waiting for my 2 grand from barclays now, which includes the 8% interest - started a claim
