  1. Hi my son of 14 is sleeping downstairs in a small room. The dining room was converted into a small bedroom recommend by the council. Under the housing act the bedroom is to small to be even classed as a bedroom. Our problem is the damp and mould. The damp is a very large coming from ceiling and walls. Windows have been left open to circulate the air but this still does not work. wallpaper has been stripped twice but the mould is also in walls. I have a 3 bed house and I have 2 girls sharing 1 room and my 7 year old son has the box room. My eldest cant share as he older and has a disability. The council do not now what to do with me as they inspected room and stated its to small therefore either a move or loft conversion. We was told there is no money in funding for loft conversions niether is there any 4 bedroom houses available. I'm asking for help as this has been going on for 3 years we have contacted local m.p,The local councilour and the nieghbourhood office. Ive had visits from officers and a damp inspecter but nothing was done. This is no good for my sons health as he breathing in all that damp who constantly has a bad chest and colds. I would like to no if I can prosecute the council for negligence or breach of contract as they are not doing anything.my son is sleeping in a room which the housing act states its to small to be even classed as a bedroom therefore I can't insure my house properly and they have no money for home improvements.
  2. Hi everyone I need some help please. Purchased a car from a dealer that was advertising his cars on a well known car sales site. The car I phoned for was sold but he said he had another car the same model come in. We viewed the car/ test drived it and no problems. Paid for the car but when we got it home the car had broke down. I called the dealer who didnt want to know, he said sorry mate sold as seen. We took it to our local garage who had a quick look saying the head gasket had gone! Went to C.A.B who helped us send a recorded delivery letter stating our rights and giving him a deadline to reply otherwise court action. The deadline is over and still no reply also tried phoning him but no answer. Im just wondering the best way forward as been reading about the court process and was wondering do I have a good case to get my money back?? Or will it take months and getting nothing in return? We are so angry as we are a working family who saved up a long time for a second hand car (and we are not well off) and this man dosnt care. Anyway we have a lot of proof ie, photo copies of his cars for sale on websites, also text messages he sent me saying the other car was sold but has another one the same model. Please any advice on weather we have a good case would be appreciated. thankyou for reading.
  3. Hi I need advice as I have just brought a used car from a private seller, discription on advert seemed good with a slight (he repeats a slight rad leak). Got home car broke down took into garage and engine no good at all. The man mentioned nothing about any other faults. Also noticed that he brought the car about 6 months ago from a lady which he never sent off his part of the log book. Also he has used TipEx to try to erase his name/date and address on the log book???? So by law the previous lady still owned the car when he was selling it. Is it against the law for him to sell a car without him being on the log book, also how do I get my money back off him as he is saying sold as seen. The reciept he gave us was like a dealers reciept saying no warrenty gurantee on car ext. I just want to no if I can get my money back for missleading descriptions on adverts and him not sending the log book off for 6 months. regards. ps can someone please give advice as we dont no what to do???
  4. The bank is Halifax we've been down the local branch and seen them face to face and when we send them proof that it was supposed to be a direct debit and not a debit card payment they will try and reclaim the payment... Would I now be in my rights to write them a letter stating that I want them to remove all details of our bank accounts from there system and then stating that I will only comunicate with them through letters and that I will make payments in person at they're office too as do not want them turning up at my door or phoning us making false claims again? ps- i am in the process of going through an SAR with them atm and will be claiming back charges as soon as possible thanks for all your help folks
  5. hi folks, Just a quick one. Me and the wife owe £260 on a loan to welcome finance and make monthly payments of £40. In august one of the payments bounced whilst we were on holiday and as they couldn't contact they visited my wife at home. She agreed to pay the missing month that was missing on the card then restart the direct debit this was on the 27th september which came out no problems. now the problem is that I have checked our bank account and they've taken another £40 out without asking us on the 1st October on my wifes debit card which she didn't agree too.. We phoned up the bank who said phone up welcome who said my wife verbally agreed to it at her doorstep which she didn't. we phoned the bank back who said they wouldn't refund it as it was a dispute between us and welcome which I don't get as from what i can see it's just plain theft. Does anybody have any idea's what I can do to reclaim this cash and the best way to stop them doing it again.
