Hi All, Well I started my claim with this bank a few weeks ago. I have only banked with them for a year so I did not bother writing for statements, if you have netbanking you can see the list of charges for free on your online statement. mine came to £180. Not a large amount but they still intend to defend it. I sent the usual letters and then started my moneyclaim. I got a signed form from a Mr Bacon saying Nationwide intend to defend the whole claim and they have the 28 days. well since getting that I have not heard anything back, the 28 days are upp next Tuesday, it seems common that they leave it till the last minute or hopefully I will win be default?. Anyway since I started this claim a further £150 have been added to my account in charges for (5x bounced payments) It was my fault although I thought I had canclled the payments. I emailed them this and I recieved a letter that they have refunded £30 as a goodwill gesture. Anyway I am not saying anything untill my current claim is sorted but is it likely I might have to start a new claim for this or if I win this current one they might just wipe it?? Another weird thing has happened, As of this week I have been unable to access my internet banking, very strange indeed. I think they are messing with my mind :grin: ill keep you posted

Hi There, I hear great things about this site so decided to join. At the moment I am claiming back £250 fron Nationwide(including charges). Considering the rather small amount they seem very stubbon. I got the form through from Moneyclaim saying they intend to defend the whole claim, signed by a guy called Mr Bacon. the 28 days will be up next tuesday,I have not heard anything since I got the signed form from Mr Bacon. The funny thing is I really think they are mucking me about, last week they added another £150 in charges for bounced Direct Debits(which was right although I thought I had cancelled them), I emailed and said this and they refunded £30 back as a goodwill gesture. I did not say anything as I dont want to interfere with my current claim. and now I find I cant log onto my net banking with them.....very strange! I am also claiming back 1300 from HSBC for my wife and to my surprise I calculated charges and interest of almost 5 grand for my closed HSBC account. I have just sent the first letter requesting these back and I expect to get the letter "we are investigating your claim" within the next few days. I am a bit worried about claiming from my closed HSBC account as I was quite bad with it and in the end they closed it and passed on the debt to a collection agency(Intrum Justitia). Still it doesnt stop the fact they charged me to much over that time?? look forward to gaining some more knowledge.
