  1. Thanks Sarah! Don't know why I didn't spot those
  2. Hi everyone I had totally forgotten that I may have incurred charges with Barclaycard until today when I was writing a letter to the Halifax! I have been through all the statements I have (which go back to 2004, can't believe i've kept them!) and I have been charged the princely sum of £160.00. I am going to send a preliminary approach for repayment for these charges and not try to get the microfiche statements for pre 2004 from Barclaycard, there are unlikely to be any charges on them. So, the mission against Barclaycard starts here! Prelim letter to be posted today.
  3. I have tried now to write this letter twice and both times it has been rubbish! Does anyone have a template or a guideline as to what exactly needs to be said in order to force GE Money to send me data for the other two accounts?
  4. Cool, thanks for this - I have printed it off, filled his details out and p.p signed it as the boyfriend isn't here. Will post it back this afternoon and see what happens! (Nothing I would imagine!)
  5. We got a letter from the Halifax today dated 29th November (That was quick!) - it was offering 593 pounds. As we are claiming a grand more than that obviously we won't be accepting it in full and final settlement. 2 questions: 1) Do I now write them a letter saying thanks for the offer, we will accept this in partial settlement only etc etc and then persue them for the further 1000 pounds, or do I just carry on persuing them for the lot? 2) Do I submit the Moneyclaim now or wait the full 14 days as they have responded to my letter?
  6. Right, the LBA has been sent today! Deadline is December 12th and if no satisfactory response (I.E. all the money back) then we will file Moneyclaim on that day. Have to admit I want it to go to the court stage because of the additional 8% interest. Wonder if the cash will turn up for Christmas!
  7. Hiya Sledge, Don't worry about going to court too much - you are unlikely to have to show up as they should settle with you well before it gets to that stage. You can even submit your forms online at www.moneyclaim.gov.uk so you don't even have to go in to submit the paperwork. Also, no need to worry about jargon and wprs to use as there is a template for basic claims on here and someone will help you reword it if you require any amendments
  8. Well, the 28th is fast approaching and so I have put together the Halifax LBA for posting on Tuesday. Now I need to compose a letter to GE Money to rap them on the knuckles for deliberately only sending me data for one account rather than three. Tsk Tsk. Some people will try anything to avoid refunding our cash.... I cannot wait til we get the Halifax money back!
  9. Right, I got some statements yesterday but surprise surprise they aren't complete - they seem to have only sent me statements for one account but she tells me she has three! They have also not advised which account the data is for. What next - should I contact them by letter or phone do you think?
  10. I actually ended up sending the letter a week or so later than I intended so the dates are not strictly accurate. They cashed my cheque yesterday so with any luck we'll have statements soon!
  11. Yes, terribly sorry, not paying attention - I have obviously sent the prelim. No need to worry!
  12. Got a letter today saying that they have received our letter and that they will respond within 4 weeks. Well, they may well do but I'm sticking to our timetable! They have until November 28th.
  13. Well, they arrived dead on 40 days and so I have been calculating the charges this afternoon. It comes to a total of £1593.00 and I will send the LBA this afternoon.
  14. I'm still waiting for my statements, requested 05/10/06 - Got the bf to speak to them on Mon and they advised that they are making full use of their 40 days to comply at the moment!
  15. Still waiting for the statements! Got my bf to give them a call on Monday and they advised that they are taking their full 40 days at the moment, I estimate we'll get them this time next week.... I hate waiting!
  16. Thanks for your reply Sarah! I am still waiting for these statements at the moment, I hope they come soon and have lots of charges on them - my parents are paying for my wedding and I'd like to give them some money back to contribute towards it!
  17. Still no statements! Have instructed my boyfriend to phone and chase them as the cheque was cashed two weeks ago. It's only been 25 days though I suppose. Impatient now!
  18. I posted the letter asking for statements on the 5th October and have still not received any - they cashed my cheque 2 weeks ago! I have instructed the boyfriend to call and chase as it's his account. Hopefully they will come soon!
  19. Thanks both of you The cards in question are Debenhams, Oasis and Dorothy Perkins, all of which appear to be GE Capital. I've had her sign the S.A.R and I will post it tommorrow.
  20. My sister got herself in a bit of a pickle with regards to store cards a few years back and my mum is still aggrieved that she had to pay them off - on their behalf I am now going to attempt to claim some of the unlawful charges that were applied to the accounts back. Mum tells me that a debt of around 300 pound spiralled to 800 and they threatened the bailiffs so there has to be something to claim back in there! I know that one of the cards was Debenhams (So this is GE Capital right?) and that there are others (Still waiting for her to tell me what they were). We have no account codes or anything as this was all paid off a while ago. Starting with the GE Capital (Debenhams) one, in order to find out the details etc IE account code and statements do I send a letter to GE Capital asking for them to disclose all the info with a normal S.A.R and 10 pounds?
  21. My letter from Nationwide with the cheques in it got "lost in the post" - however, I got a court response saying that Nationwide's defence was that they had already paid. As I had heard nothing from Nationwide regarding this payment I called and left Charles Bacon a voicemail and sent him an email, next day I got a call from someone in their customer services team to sort it out. They then sent me the cheques. I am waiting for them to clear before I cancel my MCOL.
  22. I think right.... total is the total not including court fees. Not positive though despite having just done my own successfully.
  23. I asked them for an OD extension once and they withdrew my entire 1000 pound overdraft in order to help me with my finances! (Not sure how this was meant to help, I was already penniless) I set up a reducing overdraft with them and paid them a small amount back each month, have you suggested this to them?
  24. Humph, Halifax cashed my cheque last week and still no statements!
